Annual Passholder early access to Osborne Lights?

I was told earlier today by a CM that there is definitely the soft opening for passholders 11/1 to 11/5. She said she was fully aware of it, that the area will be sectioned off and you need to show your pass to enter the area. It is during the normal hours , from sunset to close.

Okay, I received the same email from Disney and have been trying to find information as well. The link did not work. This thread is the only thing I can find about it. We leave Disney on 11/4, so I would LOVE to get a preview. I'm glad to hear others talking about it here. I thought maybe I was going nuts. ;)

Well, I called Disney to request information. I'm an authorized Disney Vacation Planner. The customer service rep I spoke with confirmed the event is happening. She does not have official dates or times yet. She did say that emails are sent out based on your status in MDE. So, your annual pass should be attached to your MDE account. She said the event will be complimentary and they are considering doing it longer than one night because it is the last year. She also said it will require a RSVP so they can control the # of guests attending. That's all I know. But she was very helpful and fully aware of the event happening. I hope this helps.

Does anyone have any updates about this event? If you are going to need reservations I would think they need to start soon, November 1 is only a short time from now.

Inside the Magic is reporting that the sneak peek is going to be an open to the public event. Said on FB that they verified with Disney. http://www.**************.net/2015/...wood-studios-set-for-november-1-5-sneak-peek/

Sneak peek open to all DHS guests? Isn't that just saying they're starting in the 1st instead of the 6th? It doesn't jive as an early peek for pass holders then.

I agree. It doesn't make sense. Others said they called and were still told that it starts on the 6th. At this point, who knows? sigh...

it doesn't really say "passholder exclusive peek" it says Join us for an early peek at The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, 11/1–11/5/15.
I think we all read it as an ap exclusive since it was sent to ap by email. It's one more week of lights so I'm happy even though an exclusive ap event would've been nicer.

That's exactly what I thought when I went back and looked at my email. Wishful AP thinking...

That was one of the most vague articles! It didn't give any details at all about the sneak peek. Just the dates, like we already knew. I am curious about what the one CM said about it needing to be an RSVP event. I would really like to know if we need to do that! We are planning a special trip just to go down and see the lights early, I would hate to get down there and not be able to see them because it's full!

I sent an email to WDW and got a call from Guest Relations this afternoon. This is what I was told. It was supposed to be an unadvertised "soft opening" and the passholder email was just a kind of "heads up" for passholders. I'm guessing that since social media got a hold of it, it may not be so hush-hush, but the soft opening dates and info will not be released by Disney so it should still be smaller crowds than once the "main dates" start. She did not say anything about it being for AP people only or anything about having to show your pass.

Again, just reporting what I was told by phone today.

So I am looking at the times for HS during the 1-5th. Thursday the 5th it closes at 7. What time do they usually turn the lights on? I think it starts to get dark right around 7pm?

Typically they turn them on around 5:45 - 6ish. I hope the "sneak peek" is more than 1 hour!

it makes sense, it would be very hard to clear the entire area before 6pm (when they turn on the lights) so it'll be easier for CM just to have it open to everyone.

This will be our first and last time seeing the lights. We are excited. I think we will go down on Wednesday. They are open til 8, it will give us more time. And even better if we can look around an hour after that! For those that have been before, how long does it usually take to walk through all of them?

We leave the morning of November 3. I was so bummed I was going to miss them. I booked a special trip for my 4 year old daughter and I in December. We will be down for 5 days to experience all things Disney Christmas. I am happy that my whole family(5 of us), now will get to see them. I hope my husband will understand more when he sees them why I didn't want to miss them. I have never been to Disney for any holiday and now I am going for Halloween and Christmas. I am glad I didn't hear about this early or I wouldn't be doing this second trip.

it really depends on your speed and how many details you want to see. They have a lot of hidden mickey's, the purple cat, plus if you want to see all the dancing lights songs then it would be at least an hour and a half. We usually start at the end by LMA, wait for the first couple of songs and then start walking around, each time a dancing lights song comes up we stop and watch and walk when the lights are not dancing.
