Have been at BIL's today and we were discussing Disney and when we were next going. I said I was thinking about an annual pass as it is a cheaper way, but he said that if I got it I couldn't use the Disney transport to and from my Disney hotel to the parks, is this correct as I thought I could use it?!
Thanks for any advice as I have known his information to be slightly incorrect in th past!

I'm sure that's wrong! Why would Disney penalise you for buying an annual pass? I'm sure it includes Dis. transport.
The good exchange rate means that if you have a disney club card (like me) you got a couple of days left to buy at the discounted rate. $20 off. That means a premium annual pass works out to be about £280. ($500)

Disney never check who uses their transport, but if your in a disney hotel you get free transport.

We have annual passes and use the transport whenever we are in Disney.

"The Annual Passport entitles you to unlimited admission with park hopping privileges to the 4 Main Parks for 12 months with no blackout dates*. You also get complimentary parking in the theme park lots as well as the passholder benefits listed below on this page. Complimentary use of WDW transportation system - monorails, ferryboats, and motor coaches - is included. *Except activities/events separately priced."
