Annual passes?

We cancelled our Gold DVC passes back in July/August. Assuming we are eligible to purchase the vouchers for the “recovery” annual passes does anyone know when they would need to be activated? We are not in the US and are unlikely to return To WDW until 2022, but part of me is concerned that APs may not officially come back any time soon (and if they do, they may be significantly more expensive), so I am wondering whether I should try to get vouchers now.

The vouchers are good until 2030.

For anyone interested - We have a trip coming up in March/April. I called DVC 1/25 about getting Gold AP's for my family. We have always had Gold AP's for many years. However, I let them expire in November. I wanted to buy new ones, but DVC told me I could not since they weren't selling new passes and I was out of my window for renewal.

So I called Disney Ticketing and they took all my information and said they would get back to me in about 7 days. I waited the 7 days and then I called them back (2/1). I spent 90 minutes on the phone and was transferred to 3 different people. Finally, I was able to renew my passes but I had to renew as Platinum since gold is blacked out during our spring break trip.

So glad I got that taken care of!

I called today to submit my info to get new DVC gold passes after canceling during the wdw closure. so now I’m in the waiting phase. My trip is in 30 days, (March 8) so it May be a resort only trip for us. But we do have one in June. I just have to remember to cancel my park dining if I’m not successful by then. I wasn’t worried originally, but managed to get our vaccine with #2 shot next week, so will have that extra layer of protection. I’ll be watching everyone’s timeline.

What is the best number to call to request to purchase “recovery” DVC Gold Annual Passes?

Thanks everyone for the advice on this thread. I called the number above earlier today, but made the mistake of saying “annual pass” at the prompt instead of “Passholder Help Desk” per n2mm’s advice above. Big mistake! I was told by the automated voice that the wait would be 60+ minutes. Sat on hold for 96 minutes, when the phone clicked, went directly to the survey, and then hung up on me!! I called back and followed n2mm’s advice re the prompt and was speaking with someone within 10 minutes. They took all of my info to fill in the “form” and told me someone would be calling back to take my order in the next couple of weeks. She also asked whether I had a trip coming up soon so that could prioritize as needed. I’ll keep everyone posted.

I was successful last night and got my APs again. I called yesterday to talk to someone on the tech issues I’m having with DVC account. While working on that, the ap issue came up. The cm checked on my status on the ap recovery and verified my info. Since she realized my trip was in 2 weeks she requested my wait be escalated and told me I’d get a call that evening. And I did! I was able to purchase all of our gold dvc APs, to include the 2 of us, and my daughter and her family. I knew my daughter would drag her feet getting signed up, so I added them to my request since I manage most of those APs too. I now have unactivated gold dvc AP vouchers in my account again. I paid the current gold dvc ap price $711 with tax $755. The CM was so very nice and helpful. It was easy to throw all that money at him. Lol. So another success story. Btw, given it took up to 9 months to get ALL my refunds, this helped with that healing process. Plus I got $130-$140 refund back for each AP during the refund process, I consider this a deal. Our original APs expired May-June 2020, so only had a couple of months left on them when the park closed.

By way of update, we got the call back today. (Originally called Feb 20). The CM was lovely. Purchased 5 DVC gold passes for (I think) what I paid for them originally. $767 incl tax. The CM gave me a confirmation number, attached them in MDE, and then waited while I logged in to make sure that my were there.

How far back for expired DVC gold have people been successful in getting recovery AP?

I also had AP's that were cancelled during the closure. I called the VIP line and was able to purchase the Recovery AP's for my husband and me. I have the confirmation email and our MDE account shows the Gold Passes but I haven't received any "vouchers". Will I receive physical vouchers to exchange for the AP card when we go to Disney World in May or is the MDE designation all we need? If it weren't for the DIS, I wouldn't have known it was even possible to get Recovery AP's, so thank you everyone!

All you need is the passes linked to MDE , so you are now all set to make park reservations. They don't send " physical vouchers" anymore.

Called this morning and its all good. Will get a call back in the next 30 days to get the vouchers purchased! Glad I cam across this! Thanks All!

Called just now and had zero hold time. The cast member was able to find my info and that it was a DVC gold pass and added it to the queue for a callback.

FWIW, my daughter was in CP at the time so we didn't renew her pass for the last cycle since she didn't need one. The cast member confirmed that we were out of luck and couldn't get a new pass for her at all. My quandary now is: with our next trip not until November, do I just buy regular park tickets for her now so we can get our park reservations in, or do I hold out hope that maybe APs will go on sale again before the end of the year?

If you go ahead and buy park tickets for her now you can apply that cost to an AP (in the event they are selling them again) during the visit.

Got my callback and have my APs again!

With no ADRs until 60 days out and no FPs at all, I now sadly have nothing to do until September. :(

You were lucky that you were "allowed" to buy AP's. We too have been AP holders for many years and let ours expire in September 2019. When I called, I was told that it would not be possible to get new APs. I gave up. It should not be this difficult to spend money!
