Annual passes?

We were there last year when the parks closed and over the summer I cancelled our passes as we weren’t comfortable going in the fall for our next trip. We later changed our minds and when I checked the app, only my pass was canceled- my son and husband still had passes. Going on a trip with no AP was so frustrating feeling like the days we went I had to get my money's worth! their passes expired in February and we didn’t renew because we couldn’t go back until September and if we renewed they’d only get one trip on those passes. I called today to see about getting all 3 of us passes and was told only I qualify because mine was canceled right after the closure but theirs were not- which was all a mistake anyway (all 3 are linked to my email, we got 1 email about canceling so I assumed it covered us all and it didn’t). The cm said he’d have a case put in to see if they could make an exception but not to expect it. I got a call back in 30 minutes and that cm said any ap cancelled or expired since March 2020 can be repurchased and that we’ll get a call back within 30 days. Fingers crossed that the second cm was correct!

I’m not sure how reliable WDWNT is, but this makes it sound like APs are coming back soon.

Does it really take 30 days for someone to call you back to help you get "recovery" APs for those cancelled last year? The CM I spoke with says we certainly qualify for these recovery APs. It just seems insane to wait 30 days for them to be able to call me back and process this. I would think they'd be eager to take more of my money.

Yes, and it could take more than 30 days. If you happen to be local you could probably go to the Disney Springs Guest Services and they could take care of it for you. We were able to do ours during a visit in December at HS before entry (we were upgrading a 7 day ticket).

When new APs are available, can I go to guest relations at DS to upgrade our tickets to a DVC gold pass or does that require me calling MS?

My callback took 36 days between March/April.

Just to clarify - your Gold APs had expired and they let you purchase new Platinum APs? This would be great news, as it is exactly what I need to do. Called tonight, told I was eligible and I’d get a call in 30 days.
For anyone interested - We have a trip coming up in March/April. I called DVC 1/25 about getting Gold AP's for my family. We have always had Gold AP's for many years. However, I let them expire in November. I wanted to buy new ones, but DVC told me I could not since they weren't selling new passes and I was out of my window for renewal.

So I called Disney Ticketing and they took all my information and said they would get back to me in about 7 days. I waited the 7 days and then I called them back (2/1). I spent 90 minutes on the phone and was transferred to 3 different people. Finally, I was able to renew my passes but I had to renew as Platinum since gold is blacked out during our spring break trip.

So glad I got that taken care of!

Best thread ever!
I also cancelled my AP last year because of the virus, cancelled two trips to DW and rescheduled for November 2021 and January 2022. Bought tickets for the first trip at about $1100 for the two of us but not the 2nd trip yet. Could not face paying another $1100 so soon. Then I read this thread, called the hotline indicated and after about a 40 minute wait, got a cast member who confirmed I was eligible and would be contacted in 30 days. Fingers crossed. Thank you to everyone providing such positive information.

Gold passed are blacked out two weeks around Easter, dates vary year to year as Easter moves) and two weeks around Christmas/New Year every year. The difference in price from Gold to Platinum is about $180. New Gold. $719* New Platinum $899* *Plus tax

So, I had been MIA from the disboards until this week’s Boo Bash Scramble. I was shocked to this old thread of mine still active but so glad people are finding it helpful! Congrats to all who were able to get their APs going again!

Thank you Chuck. If they renew my AP I still save a lot of money for my second trip.

I did get a call back and got new annual passes. Cost was about $765 for the gold. Initially they said over $1000 but that was for non DVC out of staters who they only sold Platinum passes to. It was a bit of a battle because when they called they switched me to VIP Passholders who then said I needed to talk to DVC Passholder Customer Care and they could only leave a message for them, I could not call direct. I heard back about an hour later and we got all set up. They applied the $1100 cost of the single day tickets I bought for DW and I for November so it all worked out. Saves me about $600 for tickets since I was planning to go back in January for a week.
