Are annual passes based on calendar year ? If not , does it start on purchase date or activation date for a period of 12 months?

Thanks, then if I understand correctly, if I activate on Nov 22, 2014, it will expire on Nov 22, 2015. Just trying to determine if it would save me money to buy annual pass.

When I was first a member, we went twice a year - May and December. I used to get 3 trips out of one AP by booking the first trip the next year one week earlier, right before it expired. Then I wouldn't have to buy another one until the next time. So I went about 18 months between AP purchases.

I don't mean to hijack bit I kinda have a question on the same line. When u renew does the renewal date start right then or when the pass is first used again?

Renewals start on the same date. You have to decide if you would rather wait and buy a new AP to get a new date.

thanks Debbie that's what I figured but I thought I would ask anyway. We need to renew in June our next trip is that October. We are definitely going the following October so again we would be out of renewal time I have to think about it I know we're going on the cruise in June 2015 but not sure how many days are spending in Disney during that cruise trip. How much do you save off the DVC price when you do the renewal?

Current DVC Annual Pass prices for WDW:

The above chart does not include the current limited time promo for a new DVC PAP for $484 plus tax. The promo is valid for purchases made by 4/30/2014 and activate by 1/31/2015.

thanks. I didn't realize the dvc renewal was 76. Figured it was only 25 or so.

The renewal savings used to be closer to $40, but has increased with each of the last few price changes. No guarantee that this trend will continue.

What is the difference between the PAP and AP?

AP = Annual Pass (includes only the 4 major theme parks and free parking)
PAP = Premium Annual Pass (includes all AP benefits plus DisneyQuest, Water Parks, Oak Trail Golf Course, ESPN Wide World of Sports)

All levels of Annual Passes have the same shopping and dining discounts.

If I purchase and annual pass now on line for an upcoming trip in the fall, will I be able link my annual pass to my magic band so that I may choose fast pass attractions even though the annual pass year will not start until I arrive in the fall and activate it?

Yes, you can link either the will call confirmation or exchange certificate numbers which will allow FP+ selections. You would still need to visit either a Park Ticket Window or Guest Relations Location at WDW to exchange for the actual passes and your 1 year would begin upon exchange.

Will we also be able to order magic bands when we link? We just received our exchange cards in the mail and have to call to figure out how to unlink from one MDE and into another (we bought 3 for my family and 2 for my parents all from one account, not realizing it would be an issue now).

Our granddaughter is coming to Florida and wants to renew her annual pass which will be expired before she gets here. I was told she can't renew it because her father (DVC owner) won't be here and they won't honor her renewal coupon! is this right?

You won't be able to order the Passholder MagicBands until after you have exchanged for the actual passes.

That really stinks! We only have two trips booked right now to use them, was hoping to have them for both.

Do they share the same address? She should be able to do it herself as long as her address is the same as her Dad's. But she should renew online or over the phone if that's the case and then activate when she gets there.

I spoke with DVC and they told me I can get a 'voucher' to renew her AP and then get the pass at Guest Services when she is in Florida PROVIDING her father is here with her! Well he won't be because this is a trip with 'grandma'(me). Yes they do live at the same address and yes he is the DVC owner - not me (grandma). And they won't let me renew her pass even with his ID card if he isn't here in person! that seems ludicrous to me.
