:wizard: We are considering purchasing annual passes so we can plan multiple trips next year, but have some questions about exactly how this all works...
Can we buy the passes and get the room discount prior to activating the passes?
Once the passes are activated, do they expire on the exact date of activation the following year?
Where can the passes be activated? at the resort??
What happens with annual passes and magic bands? Do you get a magic band as your pass? Can your room key be linked to it? What about FP+??
Any info the experts here could give us would be great!!!
Thanks!

3- Where can the passes be activated?

4- at the resort??

5- What happens with annual passes and magic bands?

6- Do you get a magic band as your pass?

7- Can your room key be linked to it?

8- What about FP+??

1- Yes. BUT- You do not even NEED to BUY the AP before making the AP resort reservations.
You can check in even before you buy the AP. If (IF) the desk clerk asks to see your
live AP, you can bring it by the desk the next day.
2- If you activate on, say, July 10, 2014, those AP's will be good THROUGH the date July 10, 2015.
3- Any ticket booth, guest relations at the parks, TTC, or DTD.
4- Nope.
5- AP's can be connected to MB's.
6- Yes. AND, you ALSO need to carry your plastic RFID AP card, as that is
how you can get the AP discounts at restaurants, ticket kiosks, and shops.
7- Yes.
8- Yes.

Robo (or anyone :goodvibes),
I'm hoping you can clarify this for me as well. I'm booked in March with an AP and hoping to go back in November. That being said, I have already customized my MB's for March. Do I need to do anything special when I get my new AP's? My old ones expired in early November so I wanted to hold off to allow both trips to be covered. I'm just not sure when the best time to purchase will be.
Thanks so much!

You can purchase anytime. The day you pick up the passes, that's your expiration date. I bought our passes last Feb, but did not pick up until March 2, 2013. Our passes expire March 2, 2014.

Are you renewing old passes? I think, and someone please correct if wrong, the number stays the same if you renew.

Thank you Butterfly71076!
I'm not renewing because if I did they would expire before I could use them the end of November. :) So if I purchase now, can I do fastpasses early or since they are not active will I not be able to do that?
Thanks so much

1- So if I purchase now, can I do fastpasses early

2- or since they are not active will I not be able to do that?
Thanks so much

1- Yes.
Order the AP's "Will Call," and use the confirmation number in MDE.

2- The confirmation number will work for making FP+ reservations as early as
60 days before your check-in date.
