I was wondering how many out of staters have Annual or Seasonal Passes? I looked at some prices online and if a guest plans on going to WDW more than 10 times in a year then it seems worth purchasing. I was just curious how many of you out there have done this and do yu recommend it?

Both my husband and I both have annual passes. We are DVC members and spend around 20 nights or so in WDW. For us, it is a great savings. By the way, we live in Texas.

My family and I live in Maryland. We own DVC and get annual passes each year (actually it turns out to be about every eighteen months). We generally go for three weeks every twelve months with the annual pass (sometimes more when possible). We all recommend this strategy!

I live in IL and we normally visit once a year. I bought the AP last time and will definitely do it again next year. We were there 10 days (spent about 7 in the parks) We were not on a dining plan, but thanks to the AP were able to order to Disney Dining Experience (DDE) card. I cannot begin to tell you how much that saved us. This perk alone make it worth us for us. Also the AP has discounts at some of the stores DTD. The regular restaurant discounts that come with the AP were okay, but most were for lunch.

PS. The AP can be a very addicting thing. I did notice myself trying to plan "extra" trips to WDW since I already had the AP. I was able to convince DH to go two more times before the pass expired, so I truly got my money's worth. :hmghost:

We live in North Carolina and we usually get AP's. We activate them on the first park day and use them for that entire week. At this point we are already planning on coming back to WDW for another week at eaxactly one year minus one week. That way we get approximately 16 days minimum on them. As we are DVC, the second trip is virtually paid for except for transportation. As you can see by our signature we sometimes sqeeze an extra trip in sometime between the two bookends.

We have been AP holders for 10+ years. Live in WV and travel to WDW 4-5 trips a year. BTW: Seasonal AP is only for Florida residents, so you can't purchase that one. Your only option is the regular AP or premium AP. We always opt for the regular AP. We are DVC members and get the best discount anywhere....$100 off the price!!

We do almost the same thing, except we live in NJ (better college hoops teams in NC :cool1: ) We go in Aug and buy the pass and then will return usually in June. We're leaving this Fri and then are going back for a surprise trip in Dec and then back again in June. We normally stay at least 7 days so with the annual pass is a better deal then buying hopper passes for 14 days. Of course the DVC discount makes it even more of a savings. :thumbsup2

We are not DVC owners but do own AP's. This is our 2nd time purchasing them in 3 years. We 1st bought them as a Christmas present for our DS9 and DS7 (at the time) 12/2003. We used them for 30 days in the parks over that year. We then skipped a year but we did purchase Univerasl Power Passes (good for 15 mths when we bought them but had some black out dates - only about $105 each though). We got our Disney fix by going to US/IOA and then dining at our favorite Disney resturants and by going to MNSSHP. We bought AP's again this July and have already used them for 8 days over the 4th of July week. We plan on going over Thanksgiving, after Christmas/New Year's, Spring Break and probably one more summer trip before they expire on July 1st. We might do a President's day long weekend too. We might get our 30 days in again this year! We live in Atlanta and it takes about 7+ hours to drive. We usually stay off-site to help with the hotel expense (not Disney but we figure we only sleep there anyway) and eat breakfast in the room. We also got the DDE card to help with the good meals!

To us, the AP is definitely worth it! :cool1:

I was getting APs and using them to go twice in one year to Mousefest. I am a DVC member, but by the time the discount came about, Mousefest began to take place the same time each year and I can not use it anymore.

We're from California and we're also DVC Members. We usually buy APs. The DVC discount is kind of nice. But we bought APs before that too, we usually go to WDW for about 8 to 9 days a trip. We usually buy our APs and then time the next years vacation a week before the expire to get "two vacations" out of them. But lately we've been going to WDW 2 times a year, so it works out best for us.

We're from NY, not DVCers & have had APs for most of the past 8 years. I let mine expire last year, thinking I'd be taking a break from WDW for a year or two & have gone twice since that and have another trip planned. I knew I should have renewed!

Yes, the APs work out great for me. I usually am in WDW anywhere from 14-25 days a year. When DS was younger, our trips to WDW would average 14 days, so an AP was a no brainer. I am starting to go for shorter trips tho, so the MYW Hoppers with no expiration may work out well for me now.
