Annual Passes vs. current specials

DS's health is starting to decline. While we have always known it doesn't make it any easier. We are looking at trying to go to WDW 3 times in the next 365 days. It happens to be his favorite place so why not create more fantastic memories. If we get annual passes would we be able to still get the BB8 magic bands that are out this summer? Would we need to purchase them separately? We live in Indiana so this may be the only time we would get annual passes.

An Annual Pass can be linked to any of the special bands, the same as any other park ticket.
I see there is a BB8 Magicband in the Disney online store:

Is there a different one coming out this summer?

It looks like I answered my own question. From what I can find, it looks like the special band is part of room plus ticket packages and not a separate purchase.

If it's really important to him, you might want to investigate just what the conditions of getting it are and whether there is any way to get it by buying a partial package.

Could you either start your trip during the offer period and upgrade your tickets to APs after you have the MB or book the package and save the unactivated tickets for another trip outside your 365 days.

Looks like we can buy the 2 day ticket package and then upgrade to AP when we get there.
