Any rumours on the discount like they did last year with the premium passes

There are rumors circulating on this subject, but they are really conjectures and hopes.

The only rumor I heard was from *********** and they said the discount for DVC members on annual passes was going away:scared1:

I kind of have worried about that after they did the PAP deal last year. I sure hope not, but we went the first 5-6 years of our membership buying full price APs, and We would do it again even if they did away with the discounts.

Heading to WDW in a couple of weeks and my PAP will have expired a few days before arrival :headache:. Wondering what others out there think I should do about renewing? Hold out until I get there in hopes that the discount will be offered by then,or go ahead and renew from home and activate when I arrive?:rolleyes1.
Really would like to see something offered again.

There's really nothing to lose by waiting, you would still have to go to a ticket window to activate it.

Are you planning to renew the PAP, or would you just buy the discounted AP? If you aren't keen on needing the PAP, then I'd just buy a new AP with the DVC discount when you arrive. Either way, you have to do it at a park customer service center. We find the ones at AK and Epcot to be the easiest.

1. You can go to any Park (including water parks, TTC, DTD or Epcot International Gateway) ticket or Guest Relations window to buy any type of eligible AP.

2. It is actually faster to do a renewal at a window than it is to make the purchase in advance and then activate it.

3. You may upgrade or downgrade between AP levels at the time of renewal and you will get the renewal rate for the pass you are actually purchasing.

While that's true, we find that those of us who travel from a long distance are better off buying new passes when we arrive rather than renew and have the active date happen a month or more before we arrive. We get more use out of it that way. Since the DVC renewal rate and original purchase rate are compatible, it makes sense to wait until you actually need the ticket to start.

Cheshire Figment - just to make sure I am understanding this correctly. We purchased the DVC PAP last year and activated it in Oct. If I understand correctly, I can renew our passes but only do the renewal AP which is $394?

We were just discussing this the other day and I wondered if we could do this.

Thanks

I'm not CF, but I know that you can renew any annual pass and get the DVC price (as long as you have the membership card and photo id).

So yes, you can get the DVC renewal price for a DVC AP when it's time to renew your DVC PAP pass that you got last year for $399.
