is it possible for Brits to purchase annual passes from the UK (i.e. by phoning WDW or online)????

Any help gratefully received as got great rooms deal dependent upon having an AP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you can ring up, I tried to get them online last year but had no luck :( It won't cost much to ring up, call after 6pm our time will make it a better rate i think. Plus the postage is less when you call, or it was last year $3 compared to $10 online!

I buy mine online with DVC discount. Of course you can buy them when you get there so its less things to worry about losing on the flight. :goodvibes

But I thought you needed the voucher number to be able to get the discount??

you can order your tickets when booking your rooms

Good luck with room discounts

and don't forget to ask about the dining card discount
you get 20% off most meals ,it costs about $50 extra

You don't need APs to make the reservations, you just need them when you check into the hotel....
when we checked in I told them that i had to go buy them and i would show them the APs as soon as i had them.....that was fine...
we bought them later in the afternoon and when we got back to the hotel at night i showed them our APs (you actually only need one AP to qualify for the discount, but we use APs regardless)...

I don't like buying new APs until i'm actually at WDW (that is, on the other side of the Atlantic) since they're so expensive...i dont' want to invest that sort of money until i'm really sure i'm there....

I know when Disney did the 'Best rate program' you actually needed the pass or voucher before you could book, but has this now changed since the BRP has gone?

Claire - I think so but I'm not sure :confused3

nickjj78 welcome to the Dis :)

When is your trip and which WDW resort are you staying at? Have you visited Orlando before?

Thanks for all of the info and yes been to WDW many times before but not since 99 so things re passes etc. seem to have changed somewaht since then with the internet etc!

Yacht Club here we come!!!!

Yacht Club - wow! You will have a fabulous time :)

Anyone kn ow how it works buying AP & DDE at the same time, in advance? Want to do this, but don't knw how it will work in prectice, phone to get AP voucher, wait for it to arrive in post, then ring for DDE, or can I ring for DDE & AP at the same time? Apologies if this has come out as the ramblings of a mad woman!

I have a feeling that you need to AP voucher number to get the DDE, and maybe that when the AP is bought the AP voucher number will not be known until it is printed for sending off to you. So at a guess I would say two phone calls, plus the DDE starts when ordered for 12 whole months plus the part month ordered in.

I waited until the last possible minute to order my DDE for the reason Claire mentions above :)

APs and DDE come from different sources so you will need to make 2 calls. You need either an active AP or the code from an exchange voucher to order the DDE card. I'm not sure if they would be able to give you the AP voucher code over the phone when you order, worth asking, but you may need to wait for the voucher to arrive in the mail.
You can wait to order the DDE card at the last minute, but you won't get the card for a few weeks, they can fax a confirmation letter for you to collect at WDW when you arrive so you can get the discount right away.
You don't need an AP to book a room with an AP discount, but you must have it at check in or you will pay rack rate.
