annual passes back?

there is that text on the disney site that says free magic bands for APs will not be given for people who purchase APs after 8/16. this could obviously just be for just the people who are allowed to get them, but since its such an arbitrary date it does give me some hope that maybe a new plan will be out soon. but thats all speculation obviously.

"As more Walt Disney World Passholders continue to discover Disney MagicMobile service, we will no longer be offering complimentary MagicBands with annual pass purchases and renewals made August 16, 2021 and beyond."

They’ll be able to help you and you can get your passes on the spot. Bringing your expired/cancelled passes will help speed up the process but not required.
Shoot I wish I'd thought of that before we bought tickets for our trip next month. But we couldn't book Park Passes without an active ticket, so we had to buy a Seven Day Pass. Haven't done that for many many years (Covid broke our AP renewal string).

I've also heard Aug., as rumored return of AP sales. We've been sort of circling that timeframe to consider upgrading our 7 day PHs to AP. I sort of feel like they will pair the return of AP (good news) with some bad news (FPs being altered).

If that start selling them Aug 1st, would it be possible to upgrade our park tickets towards an AP? We purchased a three day ticket but would of already used a day of our 3 day ticket.

Here now, our APs expired in November 2019. I asked twice - at Disney Springs and Epcot, was told no both times. Added park hoppers to my two day ticket and wanted to cry at the price.

We were at Disney last week and have another trip planned for September. We were hoping to purchase an annual pass because it would be a huge savings. Based on this thread my husband called about a week prior to our trip to see if we could purchase a pass and we’re told we would get a call back in 30 days. Our prior passes expired in August of last year. We are also DVC members. We did not hear back prior to leaving, but decided we would try at guest relations on our first day. We checked with guest relations inside Epcot and the gate keeper who was trying screen peoples issues insisted that they were not selling passes. We were polite but insisted we heard that if you had a prior pass that was effected by Covid it we may be able to purchase a new pass. He directed us to a CM who was able to issue passes, credit the tickets we purchased for both trips and refund the difference of $1,100 in Disney gift cards. We were thrilled with the results. Thanks to everyone who posted about their experience !

I wouldn't have expected you to be able to get APs, but I guess it never hurts to ask!
