ANNUAL PASSES ARE BACK!!!

Is the general consensus that AP sales will only be available in a brief window again? I suppose none of us have any way of knowing for sure, of course, but I'm wondering if this is going to be another thing like RunDisney race registration - you've got to be quick or it'll be gone in an hour or two. We'd planned on picking up a pair of passes for trips in December, but hadn't felt the need to buy right away. Maybe that's a mistake on our part? Hmmm....
I would buy now while you know the window is open. YOu can still wait till December to activate.

Hi all. So do DVC members have to call in tomorrow to the DVC line, or should we be able to just purchase on the app early in the morning?

Eligible Disney Vacation Club Members* may purchase the DVC Disney Sorcerer Pass starting tomorrow, April 13 – a full week before sales of all Annual Passes resume for all Guests. Passes or a pass type are subject to limited availability and may not be available at any given time. The DVC Disney Sorcerer Pass is expected to be on sale more often throughout the year, even when the pass is not broadly available for sale to Florida Residents.**

The DVC Disney Sorcerer Pass will be available to purchase online no earlier than 6 a.m. ET tomorrow.

It may be that they see an opportunity for a competitive advantage over Disney.
Except that in SeaWorld's case they offer that annual pass at all their locations in multiple states. For instance I got mine at Busch gardens Williamsburg. But then I later change the home park to SeaWorld so that I could get the free passes for SeaWorld.

I just think it's odd that Disney doesn't offer payment plans to anybody but Florida residents.

I never understood all the hoopla over being able to spread AP costs over the year. It’s quite simple to accomplish the same thing in the family budget.
As far as no Pirates or Pixies for DVC, I expect that’s because it could manipulate DVC accommodations demand according to blackout periods.
It just makes it easier to budget. And if you're on a fixed income, it's much easier to meet her out expenses by the month then it is by the year. That's one of the reasons why I pay the DVC dues monthly. It also eases the burden on my credit cards. I'm not utilizing so much all at once.

As for the pirates and pixies pass affecting DVC accommodations I don't see how that would make much of a difference. After all the pixie pass is a weekday pass. DVC already charges less for weekdays than they do weekends.

Pirate Pass excludes major holidays like 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New years, President's Day and Martin Luther King Day. With the exception of the last two, DVC already charges a premium for those holidays. And since they're on the weekends, you're going to pay more anyway.

My point being I don't think the tickets would put any more of an incentive on travel patterns then the existing point structure.

Honestly I think the two extra annual passes for Florida residents is a leftover from Disney's giving kickbacks to Florida for the tax incentives. Now that the Reedy Creek district is not its own anymore, is Disney really incentivized to give Florida residents incentives? Why not instead give that to the people who are actually paying for the hotels?

Meanwhile I'm just awake in the other night getting ready to buy two tickets in the morning. My sister and my nephew both want one. I've got my phone ready. And my credit card details on hand. (Yes they are reimbursing my. I'm just the family travel agent.)

My guess is there won't be any problem with DVC members getting Sorcerer Mickey passes for the next 7 days. Estimates are there are 300,000 DVC members. My guess is Disney has set aside enough passes to cover all of them plus their families. It would look pretty bad if the pass is sold out before the general sales opened next week.

Good luck everyone!

Okay. I see it differently, but we can agree to disagree. I guess.

Does anyone know how long we have to activate a new AP these days? We have current APs that expire this august. We wanted to wait until august 2024 to return so ideally I’d like to activate them then. If it must be done within a year, I’d have to activate them by April 13, 2024 if I purchased new passes today, I suspect it would still be better than renewing in august since it would be good for the extra 8 months.

12 months. It’s in the fine print on the website. If you don’t activate in 12 months, it’s still good to be exchanged for a credit at the prevailing price then, assuming of course, that passes will be available to purchase.

Okay thank you! I clearly didn’t read any fine print 😂 I guess we will need to go next April as well then :)

I have a ticket that's set to begin use on May 3rd (4-Day/1-Park) I know I probably won't be able to do it online but would phone guest services be able to help me exchange the value?
