Annual Pass

What are the advantages of purchasing an annual pass? My family and I have been going to Disney twice a year, at least 7 days at a time. Does anyone feel it would be best to purchase an annual pass? Thanks for your suggestions.

If you go 14 days a year you would definitely benefit from purchasing an annual pass. Also, you would be eligible for resorts discounts and that could save you some big bucks, depending on what time of year you go. Also, I am not sure if your family dines at WDW parks and resorts but if you do, as an annual passholder you can purchase the Disney Dining Experience card for $50 a year and that saves you 20% when dining at sit down restaurants.

We too are going twice this year. After doing the math the AP for all of us made $$ sense. We did manage to get the AP room discount for our may trip and I only hope for another Discount for our next trip. We also bought the DDE card. It will save us an additional 20%. It is good for up to 10 guest. I plan on keeping track of our savings and I will post when we get back.

We found that buying the annual pass takes a lot of the pressure off of us to "get our money's worth". If the weather is bad or the kids are tired, we can go to a park for just an hour without feeling guilty about "wasting" a day pass for each of us. It's great on arrival day when you just MUST have a taste of the magic, but can't stay very long.

It's also a terrific excuse to plan extra trips to WDW. We used ours for six weeks last year. Once you've paid for the passes, the other trips are pretty cheap. We stay offsite in timeshares, so that is pretty economical. We drive down and don't spend a lot eating out. Hard to find a cheaper vacation.

I have an AP, and I say go for it if you are already going at least twice a year anyway.
