If I get an annual pass at Disneyworld will I will be able to use it at Disneyland? If so how does it work with the magic band as Disneyland doesn't have magic bands? Can I get a ticket that will work at both parks?

While Robo edits his quick answer to a trademarked Robo answer.....

Premiere is somewhere in the realm of $1500 this year. You really need to NEED the highest level of AP for both parks to make the money work. Or at least I do. :)

You get a fancy AP card for that AP, to use at DL.

Disneyland uses paper FP's still and doesn't use magic bands at all. And like others have said, you'll need the most expensive AP to use for both parks

You are all know more than me so maybe you can give me some advice because I'm having trouble trying to wrap my head around this.:disrocks:

1. Have a trip coming up in September with 10 day park hoppers.
2. Also have a trip in December with 5 day hoppers.
3. Had such a great time in Disneyland in May we are considering going back again within the next year.
4. Plan on booking current bounceback when we go in September and considering 14 days.
5. Looking at the Disneyworld site the AP would cost me around $800 (don't need parking or water park tickets) so I don't understand why I would need to buy the most expensive AP

Our September trip starts on Sept 9, the bounceback ends before our trip would end which means if I bridge to AP in September I wouldn't be covered for my entire trip next September. So I'm thinking that maybe I should wait until my December trip to change over. If I wait until my December trip to bridge my tickets I would be covered for my trip next September. There is no guarantee that even though I would love to go back to Disneyland that it will happen. If I do decide to do annual pass will they give me a ticket that I could use in Disneyland at the time of purchase? What happens to the 2 day ticket I would need to book the bounceback package? Can I book FP's with AP for 10 days with an on site package?

I assume the trip in September is to WDW?

If you want an AP that lets you in a gate at both Disneyland and Disneyworld you have to buy the Premier AP. It's $1500. The cheaper AP only works in Florida, it won't do anything for you in California, no entrance to parks, no discounts etc...

If you do this and you buy the two day tickets on the bounce back program I believe you can keep them to use in the future.

Ok didn't know it would be $1500. Under park hours on the Disneyworld site I pulled up annual pass and there was only 2 passes listed.

Hm - Im just taking a stab at this - I agree with PP about the $1500 AP to get into both DL and DW. But - I thought the breakeven point for APs was around 14 days - so I was thinking upgrade your 10 day hoppers to AP (I saw your issue there but hear me out) - then you can hold onto you 5 day passes from Dec...you would be able to use your AP for whatever part of your BB trip would be covered and then you can use your 5 day tickets after that? And also even the 2 day you are required to get with the package - so potentially 7 days of tickets and even if you needed more it should only be about $10 more per day to add to the 5 day ticket. How much of your BB trip would be covered by your AP if it gets activated on Sept 9th? The tickets dont have to be linked to a certain trip I dont think - you can have the gate prioritize which ones to use.

Not sure if you bought directly from Disney but let's say if you did (I think all of these need tax added on but for ease I did it without) : 10 day hopper is $469 while 5 day is $409. Upgrading either one you pay the difference to $749...so if you upgrade the 10 day and kept the 5 day, you'd pay $1158 total where as if you kept the 10 day and upgraded the 5 day you'd pay $1218...even if you added a few days as I suggested above, you should be below the $1218 number, assuming you'd at least be able to use some of your AP on the BB trip. Not sure if that makes any sense or is a good idea...comments from people who might know better than me?

I'm following what you said and thank you for the time you put into figuring this out for me. I'm just wondering if it is a good idea with so many irons in the fire I worry something will get messed up. May just leave what I have for this year and consider AP for next year. And if we do decide to do Disneyland just buy the tickets we would need.

It looks like you would need to go to DL more than once to make the Premier Pass worth it, on top of your two DW trips. The max DL ticket is $335 with park hopping. For us the DW annual pass is worth it if we have two trips planned within the same 12 months. But be warned, the renewal rate savings makes it very easy to convince yourself to keep the AP once you have it!
