Could someone please explain the benefit of investing in this? Is it that significant of a savings? I have AAA and it seems the posts I've read the nightly rate discounts are similar and in some cases less with AAA.

If I were to purchase the AP, would I have to buy it for all 4 of us? It seems to me that the purchase of 4 annual passes would equal the savings overall.

You can't count on AP rates. Sometimes they come out, sometimes they don't. Would you be purchasing them only for the AP rates?
We have to fly down so we can't go often, but when we do, we take a long vacation. Last year in July it was 18 days. We went in Dec for 6 days. And now we will vacation in June (to early July) for 21 days... all on 1 set of APs (purchased last year July 10th). Is it worth it to us? Of course!
If you are getting the APs soley for the discount... just wait to see if a discount comes out, and if you can get a reservation booked. If so, then purchase the AP. You don't need to have one until you check in.
And, you only need one ADULT AP to book with the AP rate. The rest of your party doesn't need to have one.

Oh.. and AP rates can be pretty high. I think one time last year (March?) it was $133 a night off of a Deluxe resort. The discount for June is close to that, but at select resorts.
AAA rates are usually only 10%-15% off rack rate.
