If you have an annual pass....can you also get into California Adventure without paying? Or is it only if you have a certain type???

The passes are good for both parks
 
All passes are good for both parks. Some passes do have black out dates though!
 
When CA first opened, you did need to have a special 2 park AP. But no one was buying the addition for CA, so they changed that policy. These days, an AP gets you in to both parks. But depending on which level of AP you buy, you might be blocked on certain weekends and holidays.
