hi everyone
does anyone know how much the 10 day no expiration date passes are and how they compare in price with the annual passes for dvc'ers?

we have a trip coming up in april 09 and also aug 09.

thanks

You can find the current pass information on Disney.com.

I have found that you are better off getting an AP if you will be going 8 days or more. That is the break even point.

I don't visit the parks every day so I get the 10 day non- expiration and the wife gets the AP because she visits more often and we take advantage of the AP benefits.. Your best value depends on your travel patterns and park usage.

We did the numbers for us ( 2 vac 3/09 & 10/09) and AP will be best and we can get DDE/ToW as well. The 2 trips would be 14 nights so a 10 day pass / hopping and no expiration goes $1000 vs $738 and DDE $60.

It's like disneynutz said, it really depends on your travel plans. Having been to Disney so many times through the years, I no longer visit a park every day when I am there. A ten day hopper will get me through a few trips (usually 3), and those trips may be spaced out over 15 - 18 months. I did the AP's a few years, but as time goes on, the 10-day non-expiring fits my needs better.

we go 2-3 times a year, but don't go on many attractions. however, we enjoy the flexibility of APs ~ they allow us to go to EPCOT simply for dinner or grey goose slushies, or go on soarin', then spend the rest of the day poolside, at the outlets, etc.
having MYW passes greatly reduced our flexibility (i felt we had to spend the entire day in a park once entered ~ despite poor weather, tummy/headaches, etc:headache: ).

if the cost is comparable (or a few $'s more), the AP is a a no-brainer for us:thumbsup2

We bought APs and it's been well worth it and less costly than the 10 day no expiration. If you are planning 8 days or less, it's not worth the AP, but more than 8 days in the parks per year is well worth the AP. We have the PAP because we love the water parks and DQ, and it's more cost effective for us to have to PAP.

Plus the AP allows you to get the DDE.

THAT is a huge savings for us right there. Either my DH or I will always have an annual pass if for no other reason than to be able to buy DDE (tables in wonderland as they call it now.)

I agree with the 8 days answer. An AP renewal, which is cheaper, gets you to a 7 day breakeven. We get the Dining Experience card, which saves us even more to get the breakeven to 6 days. One night at Victoria and Alberts will do it!

thanks for the timely responses--we are leaving next week and I planned to get an annual pass but couldn't decide on AP vs. 10-day non-expiring for my Mom. I think that since I have another trip planned next year I'll just get her the AP.

We do the same thing. We bought 10-day passes for an April 2008 trip. And it will cover trips through 2011. With the major and minor park passes, we have 17 days of use. It will cover at least 4 trips. Since we stay at BCV a lot, we don't always go into a park everyday. A lot of times we just swim and go out for a nice dinner. In April we only used one major park pass and that was it. It was so crowded that we decided to just spend time at DD, around the pool, and the BW. We often get away with only a couple of days in the parks in an entire week. We love hopping to a couple parks in a day and just riding our favorites. Then we spend the rest of the week either at a waterpark, DQ, or around the resort pool. Sure makes for a relaxing trip.

DDE has actually been renamed TIW (Tables In Wonderland). It is a 20% off food and drink program available to AP holders and Florida residents. The cost is $60 for a year.

Does each person in your group have to have the DDE to get the 20% discount? We will be a party of 5. And, is the DDE accepted at all counter services and restaurants throughout Disney? If so, this sounds like it might be a better plan than buying the meal plan for 40.00 per adult. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

TIW is good for a group of up to 10. The TIW card holder must be one of the 10 and they might be required to show ID. The card is accepted at most table service restaurants.

Is the 20% good at every place or just a few select restaurants? I never heard of this card before and we have a ADR so we should be eligible, or do you have to buy it when you get your ADR?

You have to have an AP or be a FL passholder to get the TIW card. It's good at most of the TS places.
