annual pass upgrade

Question: Can you upgrade a Disneyland deluxe annual pass to a premium annual pass? We have deluxe passes now, expire in September, but would like to go on 4 of the block out Saturdays this summer. Thanks.

Sure can! Just keep in mind that it will still expire in September, when the original AP was set to expire

You won't have to have another picture *taken* since yours will be on file, but they will have to print you a new card. The only part I can't answer is how you go about upgrading it on the black out day. If I'm not mistaken you can go to Guest Services/Relations (whichever one is outside of the park) and since your picture is on file, they can print a new one for you. Does that sound right, veterans? That way you wouldn't have to pay the $40 to get into the park that day to do it at the AP center?

You can upgrade it (pay the difference) at any of the ticket booths and they will print you out new ones right there. Very easy!

Thats interesting because when I was there in Nov. and purchased our deluxe they stated that you could not upgrade and to make sure that you purchase the one you really want. That may have been a ploy to get us to buy the more expensive one. We still didn't. I hope that it works out for you.

I completely agree because if they get you to pay the difference later and it still expires on the same date, it is a win-win for them. She may have been confused or new.

Uhhhh, you can definitely do the Deluxe to Premium upgrade, we did it in Feb. this year. We got AP vouchers as Christmas gifts in 08 from DBF's parents, DBF and I went in Jan and redeemed ours, we took the girls in Feb and redeemed theirs, at the same time we upgraded to Premiums. We did get new photos because the ones of the kids looked very old (they were from July 07) and the kids didn't look the same at all. And yes, we paid the difference and they still expire on the same date.

Thank you all so much. Looks like it will be cheaper for us to upgrade to a premium for the 4 Saturdays rather than pay the day rate for each Saturday. You've all been very helpful.

When I got our new AP in Oct. (So Cal) and got the monthly payment plan I asked about upgrading and the monthly payments. They told me any upgrading you will pay the difference when you upgrade and that it can't be added to the monthly payments.

Maybe that's what they meant when they told a PP that they couldn't upgrade their AP.

Yep, definitely your best choice. But just to let you know, you wouldn't have to pay the full rate for each one-day ticket. If you have an AP, a one-day blockout pass is $45.

So, $140 to upgrade.
4 x $45 = $180 for blockout passes.
The Premium upgrade will get you better discounts, too.

You will also get free parking with a Premium pass. On the day you upgrade, bring your receipt from parking with you. They will credit it to you in the upgrade transaction.
