I did a quick search and can't find an answer, so if anyone can help me out - THANK YOU!

I purchased 8 day park hoppers for our trip to WDW in December 2016. Lo and behold, we have an opportunity to spend another 6 days in Sept at the IFWF. I am planning on upgrading the 8 day park hoppers to annual Gold passes (because, what the heck, I am going to sneak another trip in the schedule for early 2017!!). Will the Photo Pass download option be available immediately after I upgrade the passes, and can you edit the photos like you can with MM?

Thank you in advance!

We did this last year under very similar circumstances. We upgraded our tickets at Guest Relations inside a park (Epcot if it matters), so I can only speak to that situation in particular. However, our PhotoPass downloads were available on MDE very shortly thereafter. I am assuming it is because the CM in Guest Relations did all of the activation and linking for us right there. As far as editing the photos, I'm assuming yes since they acted the same as any other PhotoPass photos we had downloaded with MM on an earlier trip.

We will more than likely upgrade at Epcot as well, since we're going there primarily to graze. Thank you!

It's better than memory maker as your photos and time to downlaod is the length of your AP (a year). no features are missing, memory maker is just a package deal for all your photos downloaded but a limited time.

Don't forget you also get discounts on food and merch (not everywhere but just keep asking). I'm a upgrade early mentality especially if you plan to buy a lot of things on your trip.

I have a Chase Disney Visa, and we get discounts from that, but I was thinking of upgrading to the TIW because the discount is higher, and since we are going at least twice this year.

I upgraded this weekend online and my December pictures were available immediately.

The math always hurts my head but since you have another discount already, it may not be as fast to get your money back when you factor in what your other discount would have saved you. it really depends on where you eat as it's not an everywhere discount also. Also don't miss the point that it's a forced 18% gratuity for any number of people dining with it even if the service was horrible and you wanted to tip much less. I usually wait until near the end when I say we need the check to tell them if I'm AP or TiW so I can tip according to service received.. :)

Good points. We usually eat at Signatures, and most of the places we like take TIW. We usually tip more than 18% (there was one time, years ago, at the Coral Reef, where service was TERRIBLE, and the tip reflected that), because the service is usually excellent. If the service was so bad that the wait staff deserved less, we would be speaking to the manager.

how did you upgrade to an annual pass online? that was never an option before.

I'm sorry. I mispoke. I meant to say I renewed my annual pass this weekend. I wasn't paying attention, I guess. Color me embarrassed.

Can I piggy back a little bit? I have a similar situation...bought 8 day PHs through military and plan to upgrade to APs after first day of use as advised for discounted tix. I plan to use 1 remaining day from a military salute pass, then a day off and then begin using my 8 day PH. Will I be able to access all of my pics or only those taken after upgrading to AP?

One more question: I don't see gold APs when looking on MDE, just platinum and platinum plus. What is the gold one?

You're right, it's the Platinum pass I have to upgrade to. I think you have to be a FL resident to get a Gold pass, and they have blackout dates.

I don't know about how the photopass works with upgraded or new APs, but when I renewed this weekend, I was able to access the pictures taken in December of 2015 and they can be downloaded until December 2016. I'm guessing it would be the same, but I don't know for sure.

You can also get Gold if you're a DVC member. Otherwise, yeah, only FL residents.

We upgraded our 10 day hopper on our 2nd day of our trip last month. Our photo pass pics from day one were included (the day we didn't have an AP). And our tickets were all available immediately.

So can you switch existing tickets from a package to an AP while you are on property even if you are not a FL resident?
