Planning a trip later in December during a Deluxe blackout period. Can we upgrade our multi-day tickets on the last day to a Deluxe Passport and get the price paid applied?

Do you know if the same holds true for renewing an existing AP? We are a family of AP holders, due to expire January 2, 2018. Taking visiting East Coasters to park on 12/22. Can I apply the cost of the December 22nd one-day tickets toward a renewal of the passes for next year?

No. Separate ticket media cannot be applied to renew or upgrade an existing Annual Pass.

Just renew your pass in person on the 22nd and they will issue you a Blockout Day Exception Pass. Just get to the ticket booths early or you risk not getting a pass due to the parks hitting capacity

I asked this same question:

  1. On the AP chat on the website. They confirmed what was said here (you can get in to the park on the day you upgrade)
  2. Called the AP phone number. They said that as soon as you upgrade you are locked out.
  3. When I purchased my tickets in person at the gate. The CM said the same as #2 above.
We were nervous about the conflicting information so we ended up getting a 4 day ticket instead so we could just come the next morning before we headed home, but we ended up making it before closing on our last (3rd day). The CM at the booth said it would not have been a problem and in fact said she could get us in the next day (which we did not take advantage of.) And to top it off, they refunded us our fill three days of purchases MaxPasses since we upgraded our newly purchased APs to include MP.

Wow! I’m so happy to hear this. I may try to upgrade to ap’s on our trip after all. :)

Interesting. We weren’t able to get our daily maxpass charges refunded even though the first CM I spoke with said we would be able to. Would be nice if CMs did the same things for everyone.

Yeah the lack of concistency is frustrating. We didn’t plan on getting anything back for MaxPass so anything was a bonus.

Yep, frustrating. We also got conflicting info on being able to get in on Magic morning. I upgraded mine to a sig plus on the first day and the CM told me I’d be able to get in for MM with the rest of my family with no problem. I stopped by the ticket booth again that morning to make sure and was again told yes, no problem to get in. Get to gate and was told I couldn’t. Huge ordeal to finally get in. With all the problems, I was beginning to regret getting passes :(. Hopefully next visit will go better.
