Ok - need some expert advice here...

We would like to visit Disneyworld for 5 days from March 14-18, again in August for 7 days and then again in March 2012 for 7 days from March 10-17. Is there anyway that we could buy an annual pass that could cover all three visits? Or upgrade tickets from the first visit? I think I read that they back date the annual pass to the start of the tickets being upgraded.
But I think if we bought the annual pass for the first ticket it would expire before the March 2012 trip. Correct?

Any way around this? Does this make sense at all? :rotfl:

Thanks for your help!

Everything will track from the date of first use - so if you first use a ticket on Mar 14, 2011 (as an annual pass or as a ticket you later upgrade to an annual pass) it will expire 1 yr later.

So - best I could see for you is an annual pass - you arrive on Mar 14, and go to the parks first on the 15th, and then it's good until Mar 14 of the following year - this leaves you without a ticket for the last few days of your visit - can you change the dates by a bit?

Good luck!

If you purchase your AP on March 14 2011 then the last day you will be able to use it is March 14 2012. You'll have 3 days at the end of your 3rd trip where you won't have tickets. I wish I had a way around it for you because I'd like to schedule a trip where my expiration date falls in the middle of the trip but I haven't been able to figure any way around it.

No matter when you upgrade your tickets, the APs will be back dated to the first day you used the tickets.

Maybe you could take your last few days of your March 2012 trip and switch to Universal? When going to Universal, it's nice staying at one of their resorts for their "front of the line" passes.

I would suggest using your tickets for the first time or purchasing your AP the morning of March 15, 2011, shaving one day off your first trip. You could spend your first day(14th) doing a character meal, going to Downtown Disney, etc. Could you add a day at the end, spending 15-19 in the parks? For the 3rd trip(March 2012), could you check-in a day earlier and check-out a day earlier? Your trip would be March 9-16, and the only day you couldn't go to the park would be the 16th. Annual Passes are good until midnight on their expiration date ( An AP purchased on March 15, 2011 can be used until midnight on March 15, 2012). Your original dates just need to be tweaked a little, or you will be left without a ticket the last 3 days of your third trip.

I've had an annual pass for many years and one time I remember they extended my AP for a short time longer for a minimal amount of money.

Thanks so much for the replies and suggestions - I really appreciate it!:thumbsup2 I wish I could change our dates but we are reliant on the school breaks up here in Ontario as we are both teachers.
I will absolutely ask about extending the pass even a day or so.
The other option we are considering is just to do a water park and a beach day after the passes expire on the last trip - or maybe we should do a Xmas trip instead! Ah - I'm obsessed! :rolleyes1

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #7, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.
