We will be staying at Hard Rock in January.
I have read some ramblings that you can save some money staying onsite if you are APH.
How much is the savings typically?
I am wondering if its worth it to buy 1 AP in order to save on our room.
Free parking doesn't matter because we will be staying onsite and will be walking over to the park and not driving.

If you've already got your dates, you can just go to the loews website and check the rates - just enter "APH" in the "Code" field. You don't need to have an annual pass to see the rates - you can just keep checking, and if/when the APH rates are low enough to make buying a pass economically worthwhile, just change your reservation. You don't even need to actually buy the pass until you arrive at the hotel. That's what we did.

And remember when doing the savings calculations - you need the Preferred pass (2nd level) to get the hotel discount. But you only need one per room.

I checked for our date in January and it only gives seasonal and stay more and save rates.

I am wondering if my dates are too far out still

Yes it's to far out right now. The best thing to do it book and keep checking back.

It lists stay more, save more $242.10
Or

Great to know I can book and buy the AP later!

Just an FYI ( not sure if you know or not) ..Onsite guests are STILL charged a nightly parking charge at the resorts.Don't forget to include it in your budget planning

They only recently released AP rates for October and a bit of November, so you've got a little while to wait.

In the meantime you can book a rate that's palatable to you, just to get the reservation made, and then if/when the AP rates come out, you can change it. Just call them and they'll do it (the phone reps are SO nice).

The nice thing about having a higher rate booked and then changing it is that the deposit was based on the higher rate. So you are that much closer to paying it off. :)
