Annual Pass reprints cost....

I've used the app for discounts at various places. We've been APs for many years so if a ride needs a FP we are ok just skipping that. We just find rides attractions that are 20 min or less standby.

Pro tip #2: turn your brightness ALL THE WAY UP. Some CMs don't want to hassle with trying to scan and rescan and rescan a dim phone, so may not want to. Phone all the way bright = scans right away.

As I said: for since the lack of access to FPs is not important to all. It would matter to me, but I guess that's one additional benefit of the MP included with my pass.

I'm very intrigued by this ability to use the linked AP on the app. It contradicts every encounter I've had and the fine print I've read that says you must present your pass for the discount. I know I've had things happen to contradict the official standing before (like having an AP I upgraded a multi day ticket expire one year from day of upgrade rather than day of first use), so things like this are very interesting.

Tempted now to "forget" my pass is in my wallet next time I go to purchase something to see what the CM says.

You are presenting your pass. Its just a digital version of the barcode vs a printed on plastic. Kind of like "you must have a boarding pass to get on an airplane". I can't remember how many years ago the last time I used a paper boarding pass was...Disney is just finally catching up with the digital age. They are a few years behind.

You’ll still need to show a valid Annual Pass card for FASTPASS entitlements, Passholder discounts and more.

So they're not all that caught up yet, at least officially. Maybe there's the occasional CM who's willing to bend this a bit, but I certainly wouldn't consider the practice of giving discounts without the physical pass the norm and I wouldn't expect to be able to get it.

I'm fully aware of the mechanics of it.

I'm more curious about the fact it is in contradiction to policy which we all know Disney can be a stickler for. Think back to when CMs used to let us combine receipts for purchase with purchase. This was officially against policy. Disney higher ups caught wind of it and forced CMs to comply with the single transaction purchase fine print.

Different issues, of course, however using it to illustrate that some things could be CM driven out of logic only to be dashed by higher ups when too many people take advantage.

Think about it. $20 just to reprint a piece of plastic. Clearly there's some discretion on the CMs part if it gets charged, but that's money in Disney's pocket and I could see them officially holding all but entry hostage to encourage people to get a reprint.

I was curious because I thought that I had gotten the discount with the app before. And before the evergreen passes I had an AP that wouldn't scan for a few months and CMs always overrode and gave me the discount. I asked at Flo's in June and the lead came over and told me that CM's have been instructed now not to override and they could get in trouble now if they do it. He said some registers had the button removed so even he can't do it.

.

I'm not aware of any official policy that says you must present the physical plastic card version of your passport, and not the digital version of your passport.

You were tagged in a post above my last post by longtimedisneylurker that quoted the policy to you and gave the link to the official Disney page that contains it. Quoted again below:
