Annual Pass renewal and FP+

I called MS today and was able to get the vouchers linked. The CM I spoke w/ was kind but clueless about the problem. She put me on hold 4 times to speak w/ a "manager." Funny thing is, when the vouchers finally appeared in MDE, it says they expire December 31, 2030! Now there's a deal! :confused3 But I was able to complete my FP selections, so mission accomplished. LOL! Thanks for your help.

Mine say the same thing. I was thinking maybe that is how long you have to activate them? No idea really. Glad you got your linked. Hope you have a great trip! Only 50 days until ours. Yippee!

The same thing happened when my wife and I tried to link our AP renewal will-call number to our MDEs. My wife could link the AP to her MDE, but I kept getting the "age range" error on my MDE. I waited a day, thinking I'd have to call Disney IT for assistance. However, the next day I was able to link the AP to my MDE. I didn't do anything different, other than waiting a day. Go figure.

I just had the same thing happen to me when I was trying to link my renewal voucher for my adult daughter and me. I went back and tried to reenter them and swapped the order in which I had entered them....still got the error message. I picked up the phone to call & was told there was a 30 minute wait. So I just said a little prayer and clicked the "finalize" button....and it worked!! I guess it's just yet another glitch in the magical MDE system:crazy2:

As an update to my original question, I renewed today and encountered the same age problem that others had referred to. Because of the problems others had, I never hung up after buying the tickets so I found the problem right then. They transfered me around and still couldn't fix it after an hour. Currently, 3 of our 4 family members have the renewal certificate on their profile, but they couldn't link it to one of our daughters (it has 2 tickets for myself).

So they're sending the help request to the higher-up MDE computer people and I supposedly should hear something within 48 hours. Based on the responses here, clearly this is not a one-time glitch and hopefully they will get this recognized and fixed soon.

Can I ask how you worked this out? I also got one voucher number for my DH and myself. But when I try to link it to MDE, I keep being told that my ticket is outside the age range for the ticket. Go figure. Ours expire 12/1; we arrive the Friday after Thanksgiving Day. Thanks.

That is exactly what happened to me! I called MS and they were able to fix it while I was on the phone with them.

The same thing happened to me. When I put my will call # in, I got the age range thing on two fo my three passes!!!

I have the same issue with renewing my AP. My AP expires on 12/26. I also have trip planned for 12/26-29 staying on site at Pop Century. After reading this thread I decided to call the AP phone line to see if I could go ahead and renew my AP now since my Fast Window will open in 3 days. I especially want to get this done because the week after Christmas is such a busy time and I know that some FPs will already be gone by those people checking in a few days before us. The cast member told me that I could only reserve one day at a time....huh?? This will be my 6th trip this year, and I have been able to select my FPs at my 60 resort reservation window each time. It's so frustrating when you talk to a CM and you know more than they do about how to work the system!!

My AP expires on 12/28 and my trip is 12/27-1/3, so Mon night at midnight I went to make FP and it only let me do 12/27 and 28!! I thought that I would be able to do my whole trip, since I had resort ressies and I couldn't renew my pass til 60 days out. Well, I didn't realize that if you called you go renew before the 60 days (only 61, in my case). I called them yesterday afternoon, got my #, hung up, then when to activate and got that message!!! Argghhh!! Then I had to call right back and get them to fix the age thing. Fortunately, it didn't take them very long to fix it and I was able to make my FP last night!!!

You were smart not to hang up til you had activated it. It would have saved me some time.

Hope that they get it fixed for you quickly so that you will be able to make your FP as soon as you want to. I wonder if it is harder to fix when there are more than two on the will call #. Mine was just for my DH and myself.

Hopefully final update:

After about 4 hours, I got an email saying an Annual Pass had been added to my account. Checked online and all 4 of us seem to have the renewal certificate listed in our profile. Hopefully that means FP+ reservations will be able to be done now without any further glitches when our window opens.

Just reaffirms that they can usually get done what you need, but there are still lots of glitches in the system. Also a reminder not to wait to the last minute to do anything if possible because you always may have to build in time to fix a problem.

Glad you got it sorted out. I agree, with Disney planning is essential. That is why I wanted to renew our AP's early before our 60 day FP booking window opened up. My only hesitation at first was I wasn't sure if I wanted to renew the AP's or not. I thought about getting them later or on our next trip but ultimately decided to renew instead.
