We are planning on buying Annual Passes for our Feb 06 trip so we can also use them on a Jan 07 trip too. I know that DVC members get $100 off the pass. Here come the questions...
1.)Where can I buy these?
2.)Can I buy them from home or do I have to wait until we get there to buy them?
We are also going to try to book a Sat night before our BCV stay using the AP for a discount (if available) so we would need it for check in on the first day there.
3.)Should I be buying these ASAP or will the DVC perk be around for awhile?
4.) What kind of AP discount do you usually get on a value or mod in Feb?

Thanks loads!

Alrighty...I will do my best to answer....

1) You can buy your AP online (first go to dvc page, perks, and click on the link for AP - it will direct you to the pass page with the DVC price), or you can buy them in person when you get to the parks. We just bought ours online about a month ago. If you do this, they will send you vouchers in the mail, and then you activate them when you get down to Disney. They will expire one year from activation.

2) I think I covered this in #1.

3)DVC perks are not around for a set date. Disney can revoke any perk at any time. So......I would purchase them soon. Who knows when they will take this nice perk away. Hopefully, not soon - but you never know! :confused3

4) Not too sure about discounts - we just got ours and usually only stay on points.

Hope this helped! We also purchased the Disney Dining Experience (DDE) when we got our vouchers. It was $50, and allows you to have 20% off at most restaurants on property, and includes alcohol!

Actually you get a bonus, they're good for a Year and a Day, or 366 days. They're good thru the same date, a year later. This might be important if you're not going to renew them the following year.

For example we like to go to Disney on New Year's Eve every so often. So if we purchase the pass on Dec 31st one year, it's good that day, but it's also good for Dec 31st of the next year. So we can go to the park on two different New Year's Eves on just one year's annual pass.

Hope that makes sense.

How much is it to renew a basic AP? Does DVC have a discount on that too?
Yes - there is a DVC discount on AP and PAP renewals.

Regular price for an adult AP renewal is $378.08 (incl tax)
DVC discounted price for an adult AP renewal is $ $298.20 (incl tax)

I just ordered a DVC-discounted AP. I tried several times to do it online (from the link on the DVC members' website). Never got a confirmation. Ended up calling WDW Ticket Services to make sure it hadn't gone through and that my credit card hadn't been charged. I was worried that it was charged more than once.

Anyway, gave up trying to use the online method and called MS on Monday, July 11. Very nice CM took care of it for me. I got the exchange certificate in the mail yesterday.

Yes. You can get your DVC AP anywhere that sells annual passes and that includes the parks. Just be sure to have your blue DVC membership card and photo ID to show the CM
