Good morning!
I've been toying with our August trip for some time and we've finally settled. We were originally staying for 4 nights at Disney and 4 nights at Universal. I had purchased 4 day / 3 park tickets from UCT for Universal. We've decided to cancel Disney.
I now have 3 nights in a Family 2 bedroom / Volcano View suite at Cabana Bay
followed by 5 nights at RPR club level. I've changed our rates to AP rates. I have booked a car to limit our public transportation / exposure. We also plan to spend one day at Discovery Cove. We are soooo excited!!!!! The only thing I have left to do is take care of our tickets when we get there to cover our whole stay, instead of just four days. This means annual passes which I have never owned. I have a few questions and can use some help:
- My plan would be to hit guest services in Volcano Bay on our first day to do the upgrade - probably later in the day rather than first thing to avoid lines. Is there any reason for me not to do this? Do I have the process right?
- I am thinking of upgrading one pass to 3 park preferred and the others to just a seasonal pass. I don't imagine us traveling over Easter or Christmas so the block outs should be fine. Is there anything I am missing?
- With the preferred pass, where is the parking discount? Does this apply to resort parking?
- How much is the food and merchandise discount? Is the savings worth the additional cost? We plan to stay on Universal property our entire stay minus the trip to Discovery Cove.
Our trip is August 21 - August 29 if that makes a difference, although it looks like blackout dates are not a concern for then, and we travel from PA.
