We have decided to buy Annual Passes for our upcoming November Trip. We are also going on our first Cruise (Fantasy) in October. Two questions. Where can I buy the Annual Passes utilizing the DVC discount? Can I do this over the phone? We usually buy our park passes from our local AAA, but mot sure they do AP's, especially with the DVC discount. And would there be any benefit to purchasing them prior to our Cruise? Thanks!

You can make your purchase over the phone with Member Services or through the DVC member web site. However, what you'll receive in the mail is a voucher or will-call number that must be exchanged when you get to WDW. The only real benefit to purchasing in advance is to lock in the price (or to budget your trip if you want to pay off the ticket portion early). You'll have to wait in the same line, and spend the same amount of time doing the exchange.

You can purchase the DVC Annual Pass or DVC Premium Annual Pass at any theme park guest relations window, any theme park ticket window, or at any WDW resort concierge.

You'll need at least one DVC membership card and photo IDs for all adults when you get your tickets (either purchasing them in person or exchanging a voucher/will-call). The address on the adult IDs must match the address on the ID of the member(s) showing their membership cards. The DVC discount on annual passes is only available to DVC members and their immediate family members, as described on the member web site.

DVC Web Site said:
"Immediate family" is defined by Walt Disney World Resort for discount purposes as noted below: Spouse/Registered Domestic Partner, Parent/Step Parent, Mother-In-Law/Father-In-Law, Child/Step Child, Brother/Stepbrother, Sister/Stepsister, Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law, Grandparent, and Grandchild.

.....(snip)....... And would there be any benefit to purchasing them prior to our Cruise? Thanks!

These are the advantages to purchasing in advance:

1. Lock in the price. Since the ticket prices all just went up a month ago, they are unlikely to go up again before October.

2. You want to get the expense out of the way before the trip. It's nice to get there and know your tickets are already paid for!

3. You want to spread out the cost if you have more than one pass to buy. Annual passes are expensive. Some families like to buy them one at a time to avoid a huge hit all at once.

Enjoy the trips!

You can purchase the DVC Annual Pass or DVC Premium Annual Pass at any theme park guest relations window, any theme park ticket window, or at any WDW resort concierge.

The Resorts can no longer issue APs. They were having to many problems with the APs issued by them.

We had to go to the windows by Disney Quest, I was told that was the only place for DVC discount.

We bought our APs with DVC discount at the AKL concierge desk during our stay in march so this must be a recent change if the resorts are no longer issuing them.

Any theme park ticket window or guest relations location can sell you an AP at the DVC Member Price. If someone tells you otherwise, they are incorrect.

They were sadly wrong.

And you can get them online. It's a long process of clicking, but you can do it. Log in, hover over Member Privileges, click on Member Perks. click on WDW. Click on "Walt Disney World Annual Pass Savings and More Disney Magic". Then on "Walt Disney World Annual Pass Savings". Then finally there's a link to the special area of WDW's ticket pages under "How to Purchase a Pass".
