Annual pass question?

I bought an AP in December, and wondered if I will get something in the mail, like a welcome package? I know I have to go to the park to activate it, but will I get any info and/or my magic band before I go there?

After activation you might, maybe, get a car magnet. They're kind of sporadic and I don't know if they're still doing them.

You'll order your magicband post-activation.

Check you MDE account apparently a few lucky people lately have been able to customize their MBs prior to activating their APs but otherwise you'll get the option to customize them after you activate and you might get a magnet. When you activate at the parks they do give a little packet that tells you about the discounts and stuff.

Is activation at the parks the only option? I'm assuming you have to activate before you can make FP+ reservations?

Sorry to hijack the thread. I'm trying to figure out if we should buy 10 day PH and then upgrade to APs once we get to WDW, or just buy APs from the get-go. (We have resort reservations for 15 nights in July, so obv the 10 day tickets would only allow us FP+ for 10 days. Idk if we could buy APs and make FP+ for each day of our resort reservations?)

You can activate the pass at any of the 6 parks or Disney Springs Guest Relations. You can make FP reservations 30 days out.

For your case, you can make FP reservations for every day of your trip. The ticket associated with the reservation does not prevent you from making FP selections for each day of the trip. If I were you, I would not change to APs now. This way you can make FP selections 60 days out. You can upgrade those 10 day passes to APs while there. You get the best of both worlds.

You can make FP's before the actual activation of the pass. If offsite it's 30 days in advance for each day, and you can hold 7 days worth of FP's in a 30 day period.

Due to the pass not being active until you first go to the park, you won't receive your magic bands until after. Once you go to the park you'll then get a notification in MDE that your band is ready to be customized.

This is not true if they have a 10 PH and are staying 15 days. You can only make FPs for the number of days your ticket is valid for, regardless of how long your resort stay is.

Wait...as an Annual Passholder, I can only make FP's 30 days out? Why not 60, like other on site guests?

Just a heads up. I don't know if it was a glitch but we have vouchers not our passes yet and I was able to customize my AP bands and they have shipped. Delivery is estimated Jan 12-14.

You are staying onsite. That is the most likely reason why you can customize them.

So if you bought it in December but don't activate it until say, May is it good until the following December or May?? THanks!

APs don't start "counting down" until they are ACTVATED, in-person, at a WDW ticket booth or Guest Relations.
