Annual Pass Question

If I use an annual pass for the first day, December 6, 2015, what is the last day it will be valid in 2016. And as an aside, is there any significance to the fact that 2016 is a leap year? I'm assuming it will be December 5, 2016, but I just want to be sure for planning purposes.

And, leap year just gets you an "extra day."

Yep the pass expires on the same day you activate it, in the next year. Regardless of the length of the year.

Annual passes don't activate at first use like other tickets, you must have the pass activated before you use it to enter a park. If I activate a pass on December 1 but I don't use it to enter a park until December 6, it will still expire on December 1 of the following year.

Just curious, but how/why would you activate an AP without entering a park?

I wouldn't but sometimes people think that the pass won't actually start running until the first time they use it. That's how other types of ticket work, but not annual passes.

Some people would buy their AP (or redeem their AP voucher) the night before going to the park to save time in the morning. However, unlike other tickets, the AP is valid from the moment it is purchased/voucher is redeemed and not the first time you enter a park.
