Annual pass question

Last year annual passes went on sale and we saved about $300 /ticket. They had to be bought betweem 10/1/12 and 12/31/12. We bought them and loved them. Has anyone heard if this offer will happen again this year? We have a trip planned (that of course cannot be changed) that starts 2 days after our passes expire. We are trying to figure out how much new passes will cost us. We were hoping they'd be "cheap" again.

Anyone heard anything?

I renewed on June 1 and they were cheaper than they were on June 2. :lmao:

There probably are people on here privy to that information but all any of us could utter would be pure speculation. My guess is that if they didn't extend it indefinitely, it's unlikely you'll see it again soon. Based on what I've heard from the folks I know, the program was almost too successful. If they really wanted to extend it over the top, they would have done it last December, IMO.

In my opinion, no future promotions will happen until they can gauge the renewal percentages at standard DVC rates of the ones purchased during the promotion. Once they have some statistical data on that, they will decide where, if anywhere, to go next. That puts it about a year and a half out before we'll see anything, unless early renewals absolutely fail miserably, which I doubt will be the case.

I wouldn't count on it. In the past, annual pass promos were not repeated. The last one was a 15 month renewal for the price of 12, that was 4 or 5 years ago.

I'm with Debbie. While I would love to see the promo repeated, I've never known them to repeat an AP promotion. Once we got the 15 months for the price of 12 months. Once we got the referral promotion (current AP holders got $25 GC for every person they referred who actually purchased an AP), plus the new buyer got a percentage off of the AP. None of those promotions have ever been repeated, so I'm not holding my breath on this one getting repeated. I think it's a "taste" promotion. You enjoy the premium AP so much that you can't go back to the old AP, therefore willing to pay the extra for it. I'm sure there might be a few, but not us. We are enjoying the extras while we have them, but not enough to actually pay the price of a premium AP later. It would have been nicer if they had kept the 20% merchandise discount on the premium APs, but still not a deal breaker for us.

I forgot all about that referral/gift card thing. That was great, I got a few hundred in gift cards from that, I think.

I'm going to be out of points for a year after next summer's trip - I'd really appreciate if they repeated the offer, but not when I have to rent points or buy a new contract to satisfy my Disney addiction. ;) ... although... *clicks on the timesharestore resale link*
