We have prepaid our annual pass. I know we can get it at the park ticket office. Is it a plastic ticket like the room key? I assume it can not go on the room key as they change each trip.

It's a paper ticket - similar to a park hopper. Only the print on the back distinguishes it as an "Annual Pass DVC".

Does it hold up well for a year? I assume it works the same way as the room key with fast pass and park entrance.

They are not paper, they are a thin paper/plastic mix. They are very resilient and I actually prefer them to the plastic, room-key type cards.

Yes, they do hold up very nicely and they (Disney) give you a little Annual Passholder holder to put them in for extra protection.

My AP is used and abused and holds up great. Keep it in the little folder they give you. If you don't use the folder, keep it away from your credit cards because ours did demagnitize once.

You cannot tear them or rip them as they are made out of very strong material and they hold up well :yay:

Ours got soaked with the 3 days of rain from TS Debby - and to look at them you wouldn't know!

The ticket scanner ate my AP last year. We were escorted over to an area where they reissued me a new AP right away. Seems they are are quite proficient at replacing damaged AP's. Other than that, our AP's held up fine for 18 plus days of use and abuse.

I miss the old AP I had back in 1992 when they had your picture on it, and as I remember, it was less than $180!!

I have had AP's replaced a few times - once because I left it at the ticket reader! Since they have your name and address, it if very easy to get a new AP.
