Annual Pass Question

I was about to purchase the preferred annual passes when I noticed the premier passes allow you the express pass option after 4. It seemed like a no brainer to me but I was wondering the opinion of Universal Veterans. Is it worth it? How late on average are the parks open for? Are all the rides eligible? I know one of the Harry Potter attractions are not. Can you take this option and pass on the valet parking? Having flashbacks of leaving weddings at catering halls in NY and waiting forever for the valet to bring back your car.

The after 4pm is once per ride now officially, but I have not seen it enforced. HRRR, FJ, and P. Flyers do not have express.

Parks typically close at 6pm so I've only enjoyed it on the weekends as a local. As far as the parking goes, if I'm going for a full day I do preferred parking over valet cause the last thing I want to do is get in a hot car after being in the parks all day. But I take full advantage of valet during nights out in citywalk (free party pass/ free guest sun-thu) and during concerts @ HR:Live.

when we were there, (low season) folks just flashed their pass (hotel key?) as the went through the express line. How do the enforce 1 per ride??? Are they scanning them somewhere else up the line that i wasn't seeing?

Hotel keys allow you unlimited express, but when you have the one you buy from Universal it has a barcode on it and there is someone placed towards the front of the ride that will scan it later on.

OK. Got that. But if you have the AP that gives you express, how does that work?

I just called Universal and the representive told me the Express Pass feature that comes with the Premier Pass annual ticket is not limitted to one time per ride. You van use it over and over from 4pm to whenever the park closes that night with the exception of the attractions that do not honor the Express Pass at all.

Supraman, you received incorrect info from Universal when you called. The Express on Premier Passes used to be unlimited, but has since changed and it is now once per attraction after 4 pm. They do scan the annual passes at the attractions to enforce this.

Nothing new there, getting wrong info from Universal directly, seems to be very common

I don't think it's ever been confirmed that the rule is enforced.

I called Universal again this morning and the answer was you can only use the Express Pass once per ride after 4PM with the Preferred Pass. I decided to purchase it anyway. I guess I'll find out how well it is enforced when I go.
