Hello everyone. I'm going to purchase an annual pass for UO and I was wondering what would be easier to activate? Buying them at Publix or buying them from UO's website? Do you have to activate them both in the same manner anyway? In other words, waiting at guest services, or does 1 bypass that? If anyone has any experience with this please post. Thank you for taking the time. :)

I would check with AAA. They offer the best prices on annual passes I think. You'll have to activate it at guest services but you'd have to go there anywhere, and I expect it would take way less time than doing a full registration.

To activate the pass you have to actually go to the turnstiles and use it once.

I've purchased such things from publix before (Busch Garden's passes & Halloween Horror Nights Tickets- which is at Universal) All I had to do was activate it online and take it right to the turnstile. No waiting or anything. I'm pretty sure the passes work the same way, next time you go to a publix read the small print on the back, they will tell you what to do. But I've found buying these things fro Publix quite convenient.

Really!?! wow! I was just in Publix and I thought I read on there that it had to be activated at guest services or something? Do you print out your own Power pass at the UO site? If so, does it work the same as the Publix one or do you have to get your print out traded for a real pass? Thanks to all who reply. :)

Hey Padawan I noticed you are a Florida resident, so unfortunately there is no way to avoid stopping by one of the windows to get the Florida Resident Power Pass. If you purchase it at Publix, the card must be taken to guest services or one of the ticket windows (which is much quicker) in order to be redeemed for your actual pass. If you order it online, all you need to bring is the credit card you used to purchase the passes and/or confirmation number as well as photo id. Please remember, every adult 18 and older MUST have photo id with them to receive the Power Pass. Universal is quite strict about this. So save yourself the hassle and be sure to bring id for all adults.

Ok Rahel, 1st of all: :welcome: and :thanks: for the tips!!! :thumbsup2

I figured there was no way to avoid the lines. Oh well, no biggie really. I think I'm going to buy them at Publix because they don't charge you fees like UO's website and I still can get the Harry Potter commemorative tickets with them. Thanks again for all the wisdom. I noticed you're a Florida resident too. Lucky you, hopefully someday I'll be moving to Orlando. :3dglasses
