Annual Pass Question

When you purchase an annual pass online, is the day of purchase considered your first day or the first day you actually use the pass? I will be purchasing two passes for our upcoming trip in June but I don't want to buy them early if I shouldn't.

You will receive a voucher to activate your pass which would begin on the first day that you use your pass.
