We just returned from a short weekend vacation at WDW. We had a package with a 3 day MYW ticket. We overheard another guest saying that if we decided to buy an annual pass within 14 days of our first use of the 3 day ticket they would apply the cost of the 3 day ticket to the cost of the annual pass. Has anyone heard this or done this?

True!

You would get the FULL gate price in exchange when you upgrade to an AP (or any other greater-cost ticket.)

You can still do this, even from home, if you call Disney and do the arrangement before the 14 days have elapsed.

we are staying for 10 ngihts, have 8 day hoppers and more option, can I upgrade these tx's? how?
Also I would only need it for 2 people in the party . . .

Yes, just go to a ticket booth or guest relations at any park. Don't know for sure but I suppose resort concierge might be able to help as well.

The resorts can do anything with tickets

EXCEPT they cannot do anything at all regarding AP's.

With the "and more" option, you can only upgrade to Premium Annual Pass, not the regular AP, unless I'm mistaken.

That is true if you are upgrading to an AP, UNLESS...
you have NOT USED any of the Water Park Fun and More options
BEFORE the time that you upgrade.

If you have not used any of those options yet, you may CHOOSE which
AP type (Premium or Tourist) when you do the upgrade.

You'll pay the difference between the full gate price/value of whatever tix you have, regardless of how many days you've used on the tix or if you bought it at a discount somewhere other than WDW, and the AP or PAP.

example:
6 Day MYW Base (no PH) $239.63
Annual Pass $499.49
-----------------------------------------
Upgrade to AP cost $259.86

And just because I haven't seen it mentioned - if you are upgrading a USED ticket to an AP, the expiration date of the pass is one year after the date of first use of the original ticket, not when you upgraded.

So with an annual pass and staying on Disney property, can you still receive the free dinning during that promotion? If not, can you purchase the dinning plan when staying on property and using an annual pass.

Thanks
