We are adding on points.
This time I want to do it right. Because we are in our 60's, we want to put our daughter's name on the deed as she will get these points.
My question is, Will she be able to buy annual passes for herself and her family now? Husband and two children. Thanks! (Without putting her husbands name on it.)

As long as her name is on the deed (and she is not just listed as an Associate Member) she will be able to purchase APs for herself and anyone living in her household.

We just added our two adult children when we did our BLT add-on. They now have full member privilages for themselves and any future members of their family who live at the same address. (Note: our children will need to be present since other future members of their families are not listed on the deed and therefore do not have membership cards. Only our children will have their own "blue" membership cards with there name on them.)

HOWEVER: When you do an add on, the names on the add on need to be the same as on the deed for your original contract since it is all under the same membership number. We therefore had to add our children to our original deed. That cost about $300 using the title company that Disney uses for its direct sales. I have seen posts on this board that you can do it yourself for less.

One additional comment: If you are buying enough points that you meet the new purchaser minimum (as opposed to the existing member add-on minumum) you could treat that new purchase as a separate membership and have that new separate membership include your children without retitling your existing membership.

Thank You! We were going to buy resale, as an add on to our original use year. So you are saying that I could NOT put her name on that? So maybe I should first get the names changed on our existing contracts. This stuff gives me a real headache! Why can't Disney just have right of survivorship, it going to the associate members?? Would be sooo much easier!

If you are purchasing on the resale market you can have her name added to the contract without doing anything to your existing contract. However, when DVC sets up this contract in their system it will not be an add-on to your existing contract since the names will be different. They will set it up as a new master contract with its own membership number. That will change the way you do things if you need to use points from both contracts when making a reservation. You can not simply combine points from two master contracts to make a reservation. You can either use your one transfer per UY to transfer points from one contract to the other or you can book however many whole nights as possible with each contract resulting in two separate reservations which can be linked together to function as one reservation.

WOW...this does sound like a mess. We were concidering and add on now this adds a whole new thought to that.pirate:
