annual pass question

My Dh and I are thinking about getting annual passes for him and I. However, we have 4 kids ages 12-17 (obviously they are still in school). My question is.... could Dh or myself take one of the kids with the annual pass or would we have to get separate park tickets for the kid? Also, would we be able to get the free dining that has been offered?

If I understand your question, the APs are not transferable. Each pass is biometrically linked to the original user.

larryz is correct - the first time you use your AP you have to do a finger scan that links to that ticket, and every visit after you have to put your card in the reader and stick your finger in the scanner. They have to match with your first use or you will not be allowed in - your ticket will kick out and you will then be asked for ID and it has to match the person on the AP. This is so people can't let others use or share their AP's/tickets. You will have to buy your kids tickets to get in.

Re: the free dining deal for people with AP's - in previous years it was hard for people who already had AP's because part of the free dining package requirements were that you had to purchase at least a one day ticket for everyone in your party with your package to get the free dining, and AP holders didn't need more tickets, plus you had to pay rack rate for the room (No AP discount).

There was usually a "room only" AP rate at the same time free dining was offered so you also had to figure out if the room only special would end up being a better deal than paying rack rate plus buying tickets for everyone! So after figuring all that, if it still worked out still cheaper with free dining, most people with AP's would just hold the one day tickets they were forced to buy to be used for $ credit against new tickets the next time they purchased APs.

BUT no one knows what this year's free dining deal terms will state (or even if it is being offered again this year). Maybe it will be different for AP holders this year.

It usually shows up in April, so keep watching for it

For those of us who are unwilling (like Webmaster Pete) to have our fingerprint scanned, can we use a picture ID if getting/using an AP?
