So i am considering buying an annual pass in order to qualify for some discounts on hotel and park passes. Which pass type would i need in order to purchase park-park tickets for my family.

Does the annual pass clock start ticking as soon as you purchase it online?

or does it start at the time of first use?

How far in advance can you purchase it and then activate it at the park?
So say i purchased it now and then didn't go to the park for 6 months or a year later would it still be good? I figured if there are annual price increases then i would purchase it sooner instead of waiting an possibly paying more.

Answered and then realized this was posted under Universal not WDW... sorry.

Your AP gets activated with first use, just like at WDW. You get 10% off of gate prices of multi-park tickets with a Power Pass and 15% off with a Preferred. Makes sure you do your math because it is often cheaper just to purchase tickets at undercover tourist.
