I want to take advantage of the Annual Pass discounts but don't have one at this very moment. Can I call to make reservations without an AP in hand? Can I check in with the AP voucher in hand or does it have to be active when I check in?

Please help!

You can book it now without actually having the AP now. But you need one upon check in.

Hope that helps!

yes you can book now w/o the AP
you SHOULD have an active AP when you check in...not just the voucher. (you can activate this at any park or DTD) however you CAN check in w/ just the voucher and then go back the next day and show your activated pass.

I've heard of too many people buying the AP, showing the voucher, getting the discount, then returning the AP (and CM's never asking for it)...not fair to others.

Disney used to let you check on AP rates and even book them without checking to see if you have an annual pass. Now, when you call (I would say the past couple of years), they ask for your name, address, zip code and verify that you do, indeed, have an annual pass before even offering discounted rates.
We just renewed our APs and recieved vouchers in the mail that we can activate at any disney ticket booth (after turning in our expired APs). You most definitely can call Disney with your AP voucher to get AP room rates and we were told that the voucher is all you need to check-in. Unfortunately, we have not been lucky enough to get a good AP rate. We are hoping this year might be the year but since we plan to go again before our next AP expires, it is worth the $$$ and in the long run, it saves us $$$. Hope this helps!!!

Another question about PAP. I have a 6 day Park Hopper Plus with one unused day and unused plus. Can this unused day go towards the price of a PAP?

I don't have an annual pass (at the moment) and called today and gave my name address, name age and bdate of every person in my party and made AP rate reservations for three separate occasions with no difficulty.

I just made a reservation using annual passholder rate the other week and was never asked for information concerning my pass. She just made the reservation. She did verify that I needed the pass upon check in.

I think that a voucher would work just fine and show them the activated pass before check out to be on the up and up.

Any Disney pass is non-refundable. I was a Disney Store cast member for 5 years and that was one of the things that we had to tell guests before their purchase.

Yes you can check in with the voucher, as a lot of people check in first, then activate the voucher. You can not return any passes once they are bought, as last year my sister bought an AP, then she had surgery and couldn't go on the trip and the pass is non-refundable.:D

I also booked an AP rate today and I don't have the AP or voucher yet. The trip is for August and I plan to get it before I go. I want AP's for our whole party because all of us plan to go back next July so the 2 trips in 1 year will justify the cost for all of us (not just me!).

I booked 3 sets of rooms today and was never asked for an AP number even though I used the code. I have never been asked to show my AP at check-in. It seems a very loose requirement at best. Threehearts

I had the same question--
asked the CM, and she said voucher upon check-in is fine. So is the 114 rate at WL! Good luck!

My sister booked hers yesterday w/o having the pass or voucher yet and was not even questioned.

Thank you all for the replies! This helps out a lot.

Also , I have one unused day and plus on a 6 day Hopper plus.

Can this be credited to a Premium Annual Pass?
If this is possible I guess I would have to wait to purchase my PAP when I arrive at WDW. Let me know if this is correct?

We were never asked for our AP when we checked in at midnight last week! I believe they give you a few days grace period, in case they do ask to see a validated AP. Overall, I wouldn't worry about it. :D

Yes, you can apply your unused hopper pass towards your PAP, however, you can only do this at guest relations. They will give you the face value of the day at the time you bought the ticket which may be lower then the current price per day.
