Annual Pass purchase on DVC discount

I am not so patiently waiting to receive my member card! I am hoping to upgrade my 5 day tickets at guest services next Saturday to an annual pass with a DVC discount. If I don't have the card, but call Disney and have the number is that sufficient?

You can get a member card at some of the DVC resorts at WDW. I don't think they will sell you the DVC AP without it. They definitely need to key in your member number to complete the transaction.

I just did this last month! Go to the DVC office at Saratoga Springs for your card. You only need your member number and a photo ID. It takes less than 5minutes. Then you can upgrade your ticket to AP with the DVC discount at the gate to any park or at Guest Services in Downtown Disney. It was very easy for me!

and you might already know this, but if you bought a discounted ticket from undercovertourist or mapleleaftickets, you should use the ticket first and then upgrade it.

Thanks everyone! One last question: if this happens, I saw that the DVC desk is only open 9-5. Our first day we have dining reservations at MK at 8:30 and will have to pay for parking to get in (we're staying offsite this time). If I get the card taken care of later in the day, can I somehow get a refund on my parking fee? If not, that's ok, but hey $18 is $18!

You can get a refund as long as you upgrade the same day. Just pay the $18 for parking and KEEP your receipt. Then we you goto guest services to upgrade to an annual pass. At that time give them your parking receipt and they will refund your money. Easy peasy.

I was able to get my DVC member card at BLT. Perhaps that can save you a trip to SSR....
