Im buying annual passes online for the first time, and the only delivery option I'm getting is ticket window pickup. Does that mean when I check into my hotel, the only way I can get my AP discount is if I go pick up the APs before going to the hotel?
What other options do I have?
Thanks!!

They just started giving out plastic annual passes. I think that until the machines at the hotels are updated to spit out plastic passes, you'll have to get them at the ticket window. Maybe somebody else has done it since they started with the plastic.

Previously we had to pick them up at the will call window at the park or the guest services at dt Disney

The hotel can't provide the annual pass but if you are stay on the resort everything is linked to your my experience account and it shows the pass there. Just bring ID

There's no option to have them shipped?

No, they don't ship them out.

However, you don't need to have it before you check in to the hotel. You just need to show them while you are there.

I grabbed mine at the ticket window at PBR(just outside the club room) but it was the paper one a couple weeks ago.

Jumping in to this thread. We are seriously debating getting annual passes for when we go down to Universal (in less than a week!). We'd be getting 4-day tickets anyway, so the Power Passes are a no-brainer, but I'm a teacher, so block-out dates could affect us. Really hate to spend the extra money for the Preferred Pass, in case we *don't* go again within the year, but if we suddenly have the opportunity to go at spring break, it would certainly be worth it.

My question is...we're arriving very late on Friday, and we definitely want to take advantage of early entry. I assume the ticket windows will open up early enough for us to pick up our APs before heading into the park to see Harry? :D Anyone know what time the ticket windows open? We're planning on buying them online. Thanks!

Pick the 4 day passes you said you bought ( or plan to buy) at the kiosk

You can do this anytime even arriving late evening

Use the tickets to enter the park the next day

Once you have done the park go to guest services to upgrade the 4 day passes to the AP then

I'm not quite sure if you are planning on buying 4 day tickets and upgrading or just getting APs straight off.

If you are getting APs straight off, ticket booths are open well before the parks open. If you are staying at one of the onsite hotels, you can get your APs at the ticket counters. They will print them off for you.

In order to get plastic passes you need to pickup your AP's at the group ticket window at IOA. It's currently the only location at Uni to get the plastic passes.

We have had a few people report that the hotels have printed off their plastic passes at the ticket counter at the hotels. You can also pick them up at any ticket booth at the front of both parks. You just can't get them at the kiosks.

The group sales at IOA is only for exchanging your old paper annual passes to plastic.

It looks like I might be wrong then, sorry. I renewed a couple weeks ago and the phone rep told me the only place to pick up plastic passes is the group window at IOA. Also on the annual pass benefit page it still says to pickup plastic at IOA group window from 9-4pm daily.

I tried picking up paper renewed AP's last year at RPR ticket desk and they told me I had to go to the parks. That's awesome if it's true I can pick up plastic passes at the hotels.

Now only if I didn't have to start my Uni trips with long waits in line at the Amazing Pictures window while my son impatiently tells me he wants to go on rides.

The rep told you that because you have to exchange your current paper pass. If you were getting a brand new pass, you could pick it up elsewhere.

Last year, you could have picked up your brand new paper APs at the kiosks in the hotels.

Last renewal I downgraded my son to a power pass. We need to pick that up today if we are going into a park. Will that be considered a new pass (there's nothing to exchange) or an old one?

If it's considered old can I get a paper one for today and exchange at the proper place tomorrow? Plane lands after 4.

And I'll still be able to get in with my paper pass since I'll have to exchange mine tomorrow at the 9-4 counter? Right?

I would agree with your thinking but I don't know for sure.

I would start with the Power Pass because you can always upgrade to the Preferred pass if you really needed too. You would just have to pay the lump sum difference at that time.

Just wanted to mention that you won't need those APs before checking in. Don't worry about that. Ask at checkin when they need to see the APs, and they'll tell you. No worries at all.

I have as-of yesterday-and-today info on that.

No need to go there. The lady at the hotel told me knowledgably that I could go to any ticket window. Well, that's what DS remembered clearly, but I just had to go to the Guest Services window outside IOA. :) They had the plastic passes there.

I'm sure they would have had them at the ticket windows, too, but I was apparently just being annoying this morning.

I didn't need to go to the special window.

As I said just now I almost certainly could have followed hotel-ticket-person's instruction to just go to a ticket window, but I didn't, LOL. GS had the plastic cards and was easily able to help me.

Got my plastic Preferred changed over, and picked up DS's Power Pass as well. Sadly DH isn't here with us so I couldn't get his Power Pass, but he can get it the next time.

Yep!

Now if the person is going to do a payment plan on it, don't do that unless you can pay it all off AND pay the upgrade fee all at once (b/c that's how they do it), but if you're not doing the flex pay or whatever it's called, then it's no issue.

Thanks Bumbershoot. Did the hotel worker specifically say plastic passes can be picked up at any ticket window?

We Arrive at RPR on Friday night. We need to pickup our renewed AP's (which we downgraded from premier to power via phone).
