Annual pass photo downloads vs memorymaker

I am considering buying an annual pass this year and one of the benefits is photo pass downloads. Does anyone know how this differs from memory maker?

Their are both the exact same except AP photo pass your pictures stay their longer. If you have an AP there's zero reason to get memory maker

If your accounts are linked and they allow you to view/purchase their PhotoPass pictures, should see them and should be able to download them.

I think you are asking about the 7th vs the 10th.

DS went to renew his AP to the new one with photopass but his old AP didn't expire until our day of departure. We knew we would have lots of pics all week long so we asked if they would be on it. The CM couldn't answer it and kept asking us strange questions that we just didn't pick up on. So we said no to upgrading his current because it was too much money and risked it that the new one would have his trip pictures on it. WELL, not only were our pictures from the whole week on it BUT because I am his Family & Friends all my pictures from the last 6 mos showed up ... as well as a friend of his who he is connected to from all her days (and she is a CM and there a lot).

So while I don't think they can tell you it will happen as a policy, which I get, our experience is that it did and way back more than 3 days for everyone he was Friends & Family linked with. I would make sure you are already linked on MDE.

just wanted to post my experience.

My husband and I got annual passes August 31, 2015 and my parent's expired in November. When they renewed to the current AP with photopass downloads, we saw our pictures from September-November, however, it said we were unable to download them. I kept checking and a few days later, this error message eventually went away and we were able to download without a problem. I haven't seen that error message since.

As long as you're linked as family or friends through MDE, you will be able to download the pictures. My friend visited in November last year and then February of this year. We became linked AFTER her February trip and while she was only able to see her February trip pictures in her account, I was able to see her November pictures as well.

Do you already have a MDE account? Make sure your friends going on the 7th are linked to your friends and family list on your MDE. Their photos will pop up on the 7th and it'll ask if you want to purchase. When you activate your AP on the 10th all the photos from the 7th will still be there and you'll be able to download them all

They will definitely be linked if you link their MDE account to yours. I'm an AP holder and my best friend is not. We are linked on MDE, but every trip she takes to WDW, even without me, I can see/download all of her photos on MDE.
