Hello All:

I think I know the answer to this but I want to make sure this is how it all really works before I buy anything!

If I purchase 3 day park hopper tickets, which are $179 right now online, to get the magic morning benefit...can I then take that park hopper ticket and upgrade it to a Southern California Pass which is $174 online right now? I don't mind the $5.00 difference, I just want ultimately to get the annual pass but it would be nice to have the magic morning and I don't want to have to pay for the park hopper and then for the annual pass. I will give up the magic morning but I thought you could upgrade and I could get the magic morning benefit and then the annual pass for no additional money.

Thanks for your expert input!

Get the park hopper

Go to DLR and have fun the first day. You will have all the perks of your hopper and reservations etc if you did it that way and use your early entry.

Go to the ticket window and upgrade. I am sorry but they only take amounts less than or equal to the current hopper so you would have to use parkhopper to get a passport that costs $179 or more.

Since you imply you are eligible for Southern California passes then why not use the monthly payment plan. It starts around $6 a month and goes up from there. Me and Calvin have passes and it is about $30 a month.:thumbsup2

Well...my plan is to get the passes but I thought if I got the park hoppers first I could use the magic morning benefit and then get my passes. So, what you are telling me is that I could not get the hoppers and then get the Southern California annual pass since the pass costs less than the hopper. I would have to get the hopper and then get a deluxe because it costs more than the hopper? Am I understanding you this correctly? Thanks.

No, you can only upgrade to an AP that costs more than the hoppers you currently have. Sorry!

Taht is correct.

Just to be certain- I've always gotten good answers from them on the phone for these tricky "can I" kinds of questions....

You can add parking ($50 or so) when you upgrade to a AP and be fine that way, I think it's silly that a 3 day PH is more than a S. CA AP ~ I think it's even sillier that the S. CA AP isn't offered to anybody ~ if a person is fine with the blocked days (I am for instance) why shouldn't it be offered to them no matter where they live?
