Annual Pass mishap

I had such a hard time ordering my two annual passes last week. The first person I talked to quoted me the price, took all my information, took all my husband's information, repeated it all again for the second screen, then informed me it wouldn't go through and she had to transfer me.

The gentleman I talked with next seemed to be a little more knowledgeable but informed me that the price the last person gave me was incorrect and they didn't sell any passes that would total that amount with or without tax. I checked the online prices while on the phone and, after confirming the price he was giving me was correct, gave ALL my information twice again, then gave my credit card number. Silence..... "I'm sorry, we are going to have to go through all that again, it didn't work. "

At this point I have been on the phone for over a half hour. Tried again, didn't work, put on hold for 5 minutes. Finally it works.

I paid to have them sent to me as I feel more comfortable with that option - even tough he tried to get me to just pick them up at the kiosk. Not really sure why he cared?

My husband just called and said that the tickets were delivered to his work - not my home address as I requested. He said it is miracle we ever got them - they are addressed to me, my street address, Orlando Florida (we live in New Hampshire), with an Ohio zip code!!

Thank goodness the Fed Ex guys know my husband and they said somehow they figured it out. I ask my husband to open it to see of the tickets said the correct names, mine is fine.....his is Robinson Robinson. (his name is Steve, btw).:confused3

I am really not looking forward to calling them tomorrow, but they really need to get their .....stuff together. What the ....heck?

WOW...what an idiotic mistake on Universal's part. :headache:

Glad you received them OK. :thumbsup2

Just go to Guest Services once inside the park and change the name on your husband's AP...not a big deal.
:teeth:

That is really bizarre. What the heck was going on with those computers? Or someone just have clumsy fingers, lol?

the important thing is you got them.

don't worry about calling them today over the name error.

go to guest service when you arrive and they can correct the name then.
easy procedure.
but, take an id with when you do that.

I am not going to fix it at Guest Sevices when we get there. I believe it is an error that should be fixed now. The amount of money that you pay for an annual pass x 2 plus $14 to fed ex it, it needs to have correct info on both cards and needs to be sent to the correct address.

Our vacation time is short and priceless together as a family and I don't want to spend any of that time fixing someone else's mistake.

We are Universal junkies and love the parks and hotels, can't wait for this trip. No stress on my part at all. I just think, number one, someone at the AP office should hear my story so they can train people better - feedback always helps, and number two, I paid for something to be done right, and it will be done right now...not next month. I also have to buy tickets for my parents and kids and hope it doesn't turn into the ordeal that this has turned out to be.

Shame on all of you who tried to reassure her that it was an easily fixable problem...shame.

Trying to calm her down with information from experienced people is a BAD thing?

For others reading and thinking of getting APs...ordering an AP online, without any human interaction at all, is totally easy and simple. And when you get to the park you go to the electronic kiosk, give it your info, and out pops your beautiful AP with your name perfectly printed onto it.

Was that sarcasm? Lol....

Spoke to someone today who took care of the issue, fixed my husband's name in the computer, and fixed the adress associated with the pass. No fuss, no problems.

Where did you see sarcasm anywere in any post???

We are alittle diff on this board,we try to help....:sad2: It was a easy fix!!!!

Sorry you had trouble! Maybe they got a new computer system? We've never had a problem... with our APs anyway. But glad you are all fixed up and ready to go!

P.S. Good thing you didn't do a kiosk pick up ... then you definitely would've had to sort it out at guest services.

Donald Duck, my sarcasm comment was directed at Cieslack.....that comment seemed a tad sarcastic to me, but hey I live with two teens, so maybe I just expect it now!:rotfl:

I appreciate everyone's comments, I knew it would be an easily fixable problem. I have never had any issues with Universal or the hotels. I just don't like to deal with issues on vacation, so I tend to get everything settled in advance.

Mostly, I thought it was an interesting story that tickets addressed to me, going to Orlando, with an Ohio zip code, somehow made it to my husband's business in New Hampshire. How on earth did that even happen? Lol

Also, I didn't know that the passes had an actual address associated with them, and now I'm thinking I should call and get the address fixed on mine also.

Jodie, I was thinking the same exact thing, so glad I didn't wait and get them at the kiosk. It's not fun when everyone is ready to walk into the park to do Spiderman, (our first ride tradition) and we have to go to guest services instead. No thanks.

Is it March yet?! :)

nope, i'm waiting for February, no way are we going to skip that month!;)

Playing Sherlock here, it's been awhile since i worked in banking industry, but just wondering if the CC you used possibly had the business address associated with it as to billing.popcorn::

Serious about Spiderman? I don't want to tell hubby that! Oh well....If we can hit Margaritaville first for a drink, I can hit the Hulk first. That will be a good start to the weekend.;)

And no...it was my personal cc not my business cc. The Fed Ex guys know us, and will bring something to work first, rather than drive a half mile down the road to the house. Works good for Xmas gifts...no nosy kids checking out the packages.

Still bummed about Spidey.:3dglasses

yes, i'm serious about Spiderman going dark.

it was already posted on the (Sticky) Refurbishment thread.

I ordered mine online and they came in the mail.
