Annual Pass Magic Bands ???

Still seems wasteful and redundant to me. I should be able to decline the AP Magic Bands since I already have bands that will work fine. You can decline new resort bands, why not the AP bands?

You can decline them. Technically. Just don't customize and approve them.
You won't get the discount card but honestly, it doesn't accomplish anything more than my AP and my ID does.
I always carry the AP since I use it for discounts

BASICALLY they are NOT sending you two sets for one trip. They are sending you ONE set for your trip that is included in your room. Then as an AP Holder you earn one that will actually include other AP things in the box. One has nothing to do with the other. You just happen to earn a set via two different avenues.

Wasteful is in the eye of the beholder. I like having bands in different colors; it's not wasteful to me, as they'll be used. No one really knows the battery life; is it 2 years, is it 3 years? Is it x years of *use*? Is it x years just sitting in my Owners Locker?

If you don't want another, don't customize it or verify the address.
