Annual pass holder tour discount

Question,

We will be picking up annual passes on our trip next year at the beginning and wondered about the tour discount. Will we be able to pre-book the MAGIC tour and get the pass holder discount on it, as long as we activate the pass before the tour? Or does the pass need to be active when booking the tour?

Note: this is for next fall during the super low season.

They have always asked for my pass in the past. If you register your pass on your MDE account, they can pull it up and validate it but they need the pass number from my experience.
