I can't find a thread that answers this question so please point me in the right direction if this has already been answered.

We are new AP holders - for the first time we have 2 trips within a year so getting an AP made sense (Gold AP - DVC). We are not going until December but I bought them now in anticipation of a price increase. I know I can make FP reservations with our onsite stay 60 days out but the AP needs to be activated at guest services. I do have some clarification ?s though.

1. The first day of our AP starts the day we activate and not the day we make FPs, correct?

2. I would like to show our son how to use the 'refresh' method of getting FPs as he will be in the parks at the end of the month but has not bought his ticket yet - hence the need for knowing how to score FP day of. Because I have my AP linked in MDE, I can demonstrate with FPs and it will not affect my activation date (which will be in December of this year), correct?

Thank you!

Also note that you can activate your APs at any park ticket window in addition to a guest services locations. Often the ticket windows have a shorter line.
