Annual Pass & FP+

I'm generally not an idiot I've searched the boards but I am more confused now. Are our MB's going to have the annual pass linked to the band already or do I have to link them to the band myself? I assume I have to link them.

.... and while I'm at it. Disney is so wasteful. I just got a nice little reminder that I can make my FP+ selections tomorrow. In essence all it is saying is that we can make our selections tomorrow. While I get you can look it up it would have been nice if they had put the FP choices in the packet.

Your park admission (MYW ticket or AP) is linked to your MDE profile. The MagicBands are just a key to reading the data stored on your profile. When you scan your MagicBand at a park entrance, it will know if you have valid park admission linked to your profile and will let you enter upon a valid finger scan.

Just keep in mind that unless things have changed, you still have to link your AP to your MDE account. Don't expect that just because you purchased an AP it will automatically link itself to your MDE profile. You have to go into your MDE account and link your AP, then it will be tied to any bands that you get. Unless something has changed since I got my AP last year, this is how it works.

If nothing has changed, you are correct! When we upgraded to AP's last August, we had to link them to our MDE account as well.

Mine WERE linked from our trip last August. I'm on the phone with DVC right now trying to find out why and to re-link them. It's been a good 1/2hr so far. Their sight is having "challenges" oy. Sadly this means I can't make my FP+ choices until they straighten out this problem. She told me probably two days. Poop!

Not sure how long your trip is, but I found out yesterday that you can only book 7 days of FP+ with an AP... DVC is looking into correcting that for me, so make sure you mention that to them if that will be an issue for you and see if they can "unlock" the extra days.

It doesn't affect me, we are only going for 7 but thanks for the heads up.

In December I had to link mine. For my trip last week, they were already linked.

Go figure.

Linking is a one time thing, since you are linking them to your profile, not the specific band
