Hi all. I will be moving to Tampa at the end of October to be closer to my daughter and would like to take advantage of the Florida discount to get a Disney annual pass. Here is the one caveat. I have a commercial driver's license from the state of Michigan that I don't want to give up! So I contacted the Florida motor vehicle division and they said I could keep my Michigan license and get a "Valid in Florida Only" license. Seems like the perfect solution for me. Will this be a valid form of ID to obtain the annual pass from Disney? Thanks for the help!

Another option is just to get a Florida ID instead of a driver's license. We live part-time in Florida and part-time in IL. I kept my IL drivers license and got a FL ID from the DMV. I know that Disney accepts the ID as proof of Florida residency.

Although we had not gotten our FL driver licenses yet, we were able at a will call window to get FL APs by showing our Comcast cable bill with our new FL address along with a (non-photo) ID from our new FL hometown.

If you are renting, you could maybe also bring your signed lease as proof. Good luck.

There are several differen things you can bring to prove FL residency. I don't know what they all are, but I'm sure you won't have any problems.

Like pp's said - a bill witha FL address, a FL ID card, and you could probably also use a FL Voter Registration card too.

These are the official rules:

Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and cannot be purchased for out-of-state family or friends.

An adult Florida Resident may purchase Florida Resident media for more than one Florida Resident from any location that provides an exchange certificate and not an actual ticket.

Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency if they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency

If the Guest has an exchange certificate, a valid form of Florida ID will be required when the exchange certificate is redeemed for the actual pass

One ticket only per valid proof of Florida residence (a Florida resident may buy tickets for minors in the party)

Exchange Certificates may say:

"After sale..., may not be transferred except as a gift." This means that the certificate may be given as a gift, so long as the recipient meets the defined Florida residency criteria.

"Purchase and redemption of this exchange certificate requires proof of Florida Residency."

The following items are the only documents accepted as proof of Florida Residency:
* Valid Florida State Drivers License
* Valid Florida State issued ID Card with Florida Address
* Valid Florida Voter’s Registration Card with the Guest's name and address with corresponding photo ID
* Valid Florida University / College Student ID
* Valid Military ID stationed at one of the Florida Military Bases listed below:
(List of military bases deleted to save space)

A person who spends more than 30 days a year in Florida may obtains a "Valid in Florida Only" Driver's License. It is accepted at WDW for proof of Florida Residency. And if the person allows anything else, such as a utility bill or a lease copy you will have lucked out.

Are you married?

I have a FL DL valid in FL only and keep my NC one for the rest of the year.

DH refuses to go through the trouble and only keeps his NC license.

So, I use my lisence with FL on it and they allow me to get it for him as well. I thought it would be an issue and I could only get it for me and the kids and he would have to get an out of state AP, but they were fine with it and have been for the last 3 years.

If you are a Floridian now.. you need to change and update your info under your name..:rotfl: are you living in NC... :rotfl2: I mean no harm in this, I just thought it to be funny...
I am really surprised that Disney allows this. I honestly thought that your DH would have had to show proof.. how do they know you are really getting it for him and not an out of town relative

but you were already a Fl resident.. right? You only moved to a different area.. so that is a little different I think...

Got the Florida state issued ID and the annual passes all in one day. Thanks all!!

FL law says you have to change it within 10 days of moving

Yeah, most dont do that. I wont openly disclose my crimes but I'll say "most" dont do that.

I got my first AP on a Florida ID. It's simple.

Valid in FL only licenses are easy to get ( and let you keep your primary license) and are valid for FL resident discounts. You can schedule an appt at the DL office, get one and be on your way in about 15 minutes.

I had one for several years before moving to FL.
