Has anyone activated an annual pass certificate recently? I'm wondering if you get 365 or 366 days of use. I read 366 before but I was just told differently on the phone. We arrive May 8, 2015 but I am trying to overlap next year's trip which will end May 8, 2016. If I activate the pass 5/8/15, will it expire 5/7/16 or 5/8/16? Thanks!

It should be good through 5/8/16, but next year is a leap year, so that would be 367 days.

When you enter it on MDE, it also tells you when it expires.

interesting...

Thanks! I was trying to figure it out before I activated it. If it wound up being 5/7/16 then I would make my first day this year a non-park day to make it last to 5/8/16...but it sounds like I may be in luck.

It's a calendar year, not a set number of days. Activate on 5/8, expires on 5/8.

And is the ticket good ON the expiration date? Or last day of use is day before expiration?

366 days expires 5/8/16 at midnite

so it expires a year after activation rather than a year after first date of use?

Only MYW tickets self activate upon park entry. Annual Passes are active when issued at either a park ticket window or guest relations location.

367 days. 2016 is a leap year.

Yes, you are correct!
I actually thought of Leap Year, but didn't bother to scroll the calendar to confirm.

Actually both are correct.

It will expire after first date of use if that is also the date of activation which is usually the case.

It will expire if you activate it and never enter a park.

The last one we got we 366 days because we were mad that we only needed a 2 day park hopper to finish our trip instead of something bigger.

Do you need to activate your AP at 60 days prior to your first trip to take advantage of FP+? Sorry I'm so confused about this but we are planning multiple trips to take advantage of AP and I want to make sure I understand. Thx for info

No. You just hook it up in My Disney Experience. It's probably in there anyway.
